I've been meaning to ask since the thread title change, but what's with the title? What is the connection to Qanon?
Second shot today. At first a bit constipated, been blowing some loose stools/liquid these last couple days. Weird mix, but rather regular timed dumps. Super easy to eat 1800 calories.
Took my first dose Sunday night. I typically only eat one bigger sized meal a day. My anxiety keeps me from feeling hungry or thinking about food typically. I had a small salad and a small bowl of tuna helper last night around 7 and my stomach feels like I just ate 50 nuggets right now (9 hours later) gonna have to really dial back the food amount and be smarter with what I eat.
9 days in. 9lbs lost. I’m just not hungry and I get full off way smaller amounts. A big side effect I’ve noticed is that I’m more tired than I was before starting.
Yep. And I can feel myself starting to actually get hungry a day or two before I’m due for my next dose. That’s normal though
That kinda changes once you start increasing the dosage. I’m on 10mg and never get hungry. When I do my injection I still have like 3mg in my system from the previous week.
I’m not a smoker but I’ve found myself dipping less. I figured it would be the opposite since I’m not eating as often. Haven’t really craved alcohol. WVU football causes the urges most often.
I definitely have less urge to binge drink. I can drink 1-2 no problem but I'd have to really really work at it if I wanted to have 5-6 or more, if that makes sense?
How severe has everyone’s side effects been? Without fail if I eat over 2000 calories in a day it’s like the food just gets stuck in my stomach and I end up throwing up over night. It’s happened once every week since I started. Almost 3 weeks in since I started. Have had bouts of diarrhea as well. Also have lost 21 lbs in 3 weeks though. Just not sure I can sustain this long term if this is just the starter dose.
Maybe cut down the calorie intake and watch what type of foods you are eating. I’ve been on it 3 months and haven’t have any nausea or diarrhea at all. I’ve been between 1500-1800 calories a day.
That’s generally where I sit with some variance. I’ve been pretty meticulous measuring portions and tracking. I was at 1250 week 1 and have settled around 1600 in second and third weeks. May just need to work on the standard deviation in that number.
I’m not like Tracy Morgan level out-eating the ozempic, but it feels like a normal-ish diet of 2000-2500 calories isn’t cutting it at all right now. Totally stuck. 2.5mg dose.
Sounds like you’re eating too much? The way i looked at it. I didn’t eat until I felt full. I ate until no longer felt hungry.
I’m on it via my PCP for type 2 diabetes, not specifically weight loss, so I’m not sure changing drugs is much of an option.
There's some studies that have pointed to there being a significant difference in weight loss on tirz depending on if you are using it to treat T2DM, or weight loss. I have seen a lot of (anectdotal) notes on people with diabetes not losing weight at all.
New side effect for me on Tirzepatide. Acid reflux, or what I'm guessing is that? Ive never really dealt with any sort of acid reflux, indigestion etc, but this weekend I had 2 slices of pizza and a few IPAs and went to bed feeling like I had food up to my esophagus. Woke up in the middle of the night by basically burping acid into my mouth. Fun stuff. Then last night I ate better but had 1 beer and same thing. Couldn't eat breakfast at all and only had fruit for lunch. Still feel like I could puke if I tried. wont be drinking again any time soon if this is the result
Normal. Lots of people talk about this, or sulfur burps. Happens to me if I eat too much, eat something heavy/spicy etc.
If I get the too full feeling that kind of indicates that kind of acid reflux I either stay up super late to digest or sleep sitting up and it usually works to cut it off.
The acidic tomato in pizza is always the culprit on the rare chance I get acid reflux. If I dip certain brands (Grizzly), that sometimes does it too. Not sure why
One thing I dislike about the medication is the feeling of being starving but can't stomach the idea of eating. It's a weird feeling.
I’ve found even a small snack takes care of it for me. Like a nutrigrain bar. The other day a fun sized snickers from my kids Halloween bucket. Others mention just water, but I haven’t tried. It happens to me first thing in the morning and I feel like I’m going to hurl my entire digestive system if I don’t eat something asap. Bizarre, but I deal with it. Usually I don’t want to eat, but I stuff it down to cure the pang.
On a little over 2 months now. Have dropped around 18 lbs. I can see why this stuff is so effective. speaking of, is the sole mechanism of weight loss on these really just calories in/calories out? They have different modes of making that easier, but ultimately it just makes people eat less, right? There's no ramped up metabolism or anything like that with an effect?
mine are a little different. This morning I had a greek yogurt and half an apple (because I was full and had no interest in eating the other half), and at lunch time I still felt full yet had an insatiable craving for french fries to the point that I couldn't think about anything else. I ended up eating a few pringles a coworker had instead, and then the craving changed to ice cream/frozen yogurt but was just as strong. Just weird.
Congrats on your pregnancy! I just took my 4th starter dose and I’ve gained 5lbs. Which is wild because I was eating the same amount before starting Ozempic and slowly losing regularly.
well i randomly came into 6mg of ozempic. so i decided to do 1mg per week for 6 weeks, just to give it an honest effort before i try to figure out a way to get wegovy. i have a headache. thats really my only complaint so far.
so, uhh, interesting thing that's happening... i've been in considerably less pain since starting ozempic.
