I do it through weight watchers because I heard they were good at getting the PA through. I think I pay $89 for their service, and $25 a month for the meds at the pharmacy.
Is the 89 monthly? I've seen a few places that market the ability to help get you a prescription, but you have to maintain a sub. Kinda scammy
Yes. It comes with the normal ww program so not just the pa. I've used the nutritionist a few times as well but don't do any of the meal plan.
I have developed restless legs again on mounjaro. I haven’t seen others have the issue, so I wonder if it’s something specific to my body. Luckily last night was my last shot, hopefully it goes away.
Upped my dose this week to 6 units of compounded semigluted. Def starting to hit back heavier on the appetite suppression. A little hard to get in 2200 calories and proper macros. Down about 15lbs this month as I started actually monitoring what I eat
Tried the thigh injection site tonight for shits and giggles. No bueno. My legs are much more lean than my midsection.
Down 45 pounds from 215 in almost 7 months. Basically 1.5 pounds/week, but it came off much quicker in the beginning than it is now.
I started on 7/26 at 319.2 pounds and today exactly 6 months later I’m at 259.4. 60 pounds in 6 months and I really haven’t been working out much at all. Will be getting back into the gym in the next couple of weeks after I finish this project I’m working on. My goal is to get down to 220 then back off to a maintenance dose. I have an appointment with my doctor next week to see if she wants to raise me up to the 15mg dose.
After the initial de-bloating, you probably had a higher BRM when you were 215 vs 170. So if you're eating the same, working out the same, your BMR is ~2-300 calories different. So that could easily be it. Nice work tho
I’m probably eating 1500 calories a day on average. Haven’t been working out and I usually don’t eat breakfast and sometimes forget to eat lunch, so it’s pretty easy with only one meal and the occasional after dinner snack. Alcohol consumption has also gone to almost none except one or two drinks once a week. Just can’t drink more than that even if I want to.
Any of you have side effects from the first micro-dose? I did my first jab yesterday and I can't tell if it's placebo or if I'm feeling it already. I also have some pretty gnarly nausea.
I may be an outlier, but I’ve never really had any side effects. I’ll be a little more tired than normal the first 36 hours or so after the injection and I probably only take 1-2 shits a week. Never had any nausea though.
No appetite, shitting a lot (see spoiler), stomach upset. No nausea I can remember. I was also on a higher dose of metformin, so it’s possible that combo was partially responsible. Spoiler: Gross poop thing, not pics Steatorrhea(?) or loose stool with lumps orangeish fat
He intended effects happened. Pretty insaneously. Reduced appetite is quick to set in. I didn't have any nausea or bad side effects. Some slight indigestion when I feel over full but nothing horrible like hardware. I'll cycle through normal pooping then maybe a day where I feel a little constipated, then a random loose poop but nothing like extreme diarrhea
what you have sound like normal side effects so let them know what they are, and ask for Zofran to take on the day of injection and perhaps following day.
Had side effects a few months after starting. Intended effects were noticeable the next day after the first dose. I wasn’t hungry at all.
I don't really either. I changed my diet some to add more fiber and protein, and never really ate fatty foods so I think that helped. I know people who changed nothing and had a bad time.
good to know. I’ve puked a few times today and I am not enjoying it. One time was in the parking lot of my kids hoops practice. SMH I’m sure I looked like a degenerate
I had some blurry vision the day after my first shot, On week of 3rd shot now, so my doses are still pretty low Ive noticed that I'm not necessarily hungry most of the time when it's time to eat, but i can still eat. I typically don't eat much more than a handful of beef jerky or something similar for lunch and sometimes don't eat dinner. But if i want, I can eat. Like Sunday for example I kinda got pissed at my wife for insisting we go out to eat for lunch when we had people coming over for wings and stuff I was cooking that she insisted needed to be early. I was pissed, so i ordered and ate a full plate. And honestly, when I got done cooking the wings, I know i could have eaten a handful of them. I guess, I dunno, feels like a lot of people say they 'cant' eat a lot. Well I sure feel like i can, and haven't had any sickness feeling from doing so or anything It's funny though, because i feels like I'm not ever actually hungry feeling, like I could almost go days without much of anything to eat. But I know I need to. Just not so much like when I was pissed at spending money for no reason the other day
For the first 2-3 months I def "ate through it" at times and could still eat plenty....but I didn't gain any weight. I think it actually somewhat controlled by binge eating so I maintained. I didn't want to eat, but I did. Sometimes felt overly full and burpy. I think it helped. I've been eating ~2200 cals and completely satisfied
Anybody heard any more about sleep apnea prescriptions? I have an appointment to see my pulmonogist coming up to ask him about it hoping I could get my prescription covered by insurance instead, but was wondering if anyone else might have had any luck
Just happened across this thread. I usually just hang out in the MMA and WWE threads. Started Wegovy Sept 1 at 229 pounds. Just over 5 months I'm down to 173. I'm 5'8" so 229 was an awful number for me. I feel tremendous, no more fatty liver disease, cholesterol numbers down to normal, plenty of energy. Target weight is 155 and then I'll go maintenance. Went from XL shirts to M. Highly recommend it. Not really any place you can be so open about it so I'll be more active in this thread. About to go back and read through it now. If anybody is just starting and wants to AMA, feel free.
No diabetes but was probably on that path. I’m at the max dose for Wegovy now, 2.4. Only costs me $25 a month after a few phone calls with my insurance and the pharmacy.
That's me too. I'm on compounded trizeptide or however it's spelled. It's compounded locally, and is expensive, so im always looking out for cheaper options.
Lando Donovan Were you lucky enough that your insurance actually had weight loss included, or was it some other convo?
It was just getting my doctor to send the pre authorization form a few times. It’s not a local place, just Walgreens.
I don't think you understand how rare/lucky you are. What was the diagnosis your doctor put down as the need for the medication?
I think he’s asking what diagnostic code was used for the PA. Mine was approved for weight loss. After a year Wegovy lost effectiveness or I learned unconsciously how to beat it. I hit a plateau, then ping ponged a bit, then gained back like 30% of what I had lost. We switched to Zepbound a month ago, and I started on the 7.5 dose which is equivalent to 2.4 Wegovy. I started 10.0 Zepbound dose this week and can definitely tell a difference, and there are two dose levels higher. I have another year to let this work for me and l’ll need to really focus on conscientious habits, exercise, and all the other shit I should be focusing more on while I was on Wegovy. I think it will be hard for anyone to get approval longer than 2 years but not sure.
Injection site matters a lot. I went from below my belly button on either side to above and noticed a difference pretty quickly
Mine went through my insurance automatically. I also switched to zepbound. Went from the 5 wegovy to 2.5 zep which kind of sucks. Food noise came back some but I still feel pretty good. Moving up to 5 next week. This medication has been absolute magic for my BP. I went from high to normal since October. I'm just astounded. Nothing else was working. I have lost 23lbs in that time, and started having the energy to go back to the gym. Also I never want more than one beer any more. I never drank a ton most days, but usually 2-3 depending what I was doing. Now it's 1 maybe.
Same. I was already a social drinker that could still occasionally tie one on. Now I barely drink at all and am much happier for it. I had a few beers out at a concert the other night for the first time in months and paid for it the next morning. #CaliforniaSober
I’m quite sure it was for weight loss. Having a comorbidity (fatty liver disease) was the X factor I guess.
I just took my first shot Monday, and had a bad case of acid reflux. I puked up acid/bile somewhere between 15 - 20 times, in a 4 hour window. Anyone else experience this, and did it get better with additional injections?
https://today.usc.edu/popular-weigh...ows-promise-in-reducing-cravings-for-alcohol/ Popular weight loss, diabetes drug shows promise in reducing cravings for alcohol USC-led trial confirms side effect: Semaglutide, better known as Ozempic and Wegovy, could also help people cut down on their alcohol intake. February 12, 2025
I wasn’t a big drinker before, but even less so now. No desire at all. I ordered a beer last week while our with friends. Basically only so I wouldn’t be the only one not drinking. I had like 3 sips and gave the rest to my buddy.
Found out today that my insurance now covers Ozempic, $70 for 4mg a month as I understood it. I have no idea what that amount really means in this world. Recently got the cone of shame for having high blood pressure, and got a basic blood panel done today. Fingers crossed a red flag goes up so my primary can give me the pass into Hot Boi Summer 2025!
As the skeptical starter of this thread a little over a year ago, I’m happy to read all the success stories from over the last 12 months. The drug(s) seemed too good to be true at the time. And the gal that I posted about in the first post is still crazy af but is off the meds and has kept the weight off. Keep up the good work gents.
