Anyone switching from injections to oral formulation? Any good reading recs on efficacy or safety differences?
Been off Terz for 2.5 weeks due to a knee scope/debridement today and still lost a couple pounds. Getting back on it Monday to keep this train rolling!
They def increase the compound bc the bioavailability is lower, but shots are so easy now.no reason to change
Increases risk of asphyxiation during anesthesia due to the slower food migration caused by these types of drugs.
Any recent recommendations for providers? All of the compounding pharmacies my wife’s doc has sent info to have not been responsive and she wants to get moving to stay on course with some other health plans and goals. The other option is just pay retail for the ozempic pens and that isn’t a favorable option.
my endo started me comically low with 100mg every 2 weeks but my wife said that's the recommended starting dose. went to 200mg/2 week and my RBC got a bit high so changed to weekly and a bit lower dose so need to see where that balances out to. i was in the upper 100s/low 200s for years. my endocrine system is all whack.
More frequent injections at lower dosages lead to lower side effects vs one large dose One shot every two weeks is wild. That doesn't seem right. With Test Cyp you're basically fully depleting the medication vs having steady levels in your body. You'd be better off doing 25mg every 3.5 days I started off at 65mg a week, I believe and ended at 140 a week after 9 months and quarterly testing. I'm prescribed once a week but do it Every 3.5 days.
Test injections are where, I think, med training is very lagging behind the gear head best practices.
I think they are lagging heavy testing in general. Also they often go to least amount of injections b/c they are a hinderance/hurdle to care. Every Day might be best, but asking someone to take an IM shot daily is probably going to lower the chance someone actually does it and reduces the efficacy of the care. Going from 100mg once every two weeks to 100mg a week you start stacking the half life and build more consistent levels. Gets even better when you break 100mg into 2 shots a week. Consistent levels, reduced the highs/lows, and supposed to help reduce a lot of the sides b/c your body isn't adjusting to the sides Spoiler: Charts Also seems to be a lot of older studies that have been disproven or new studies showing different results....and the new studies aren't making it to the providers. Seems like Women's HRT is next on the growth path
As of yesterday evening I am now officially a committed member of the Trizepatide fam. Please respect my decision. No further questions.
At the end of the third week of Retatrutide. Started at 6'1" and 208 with about 19% bodyfat. Would like to see 195 without losing (much) muscle. First and second weeks were 1mg. Responded well with only slight, periodic nausea for a couple days, so I increased to 1.5mg this week. I'll increase to 2mg for all of the second month. Was not constipated the first two weeks, but I've experienced it this week. Food noise has certainly quieted and the large portions aren't as appealing. My day-to-day weight fluctuates 5 to 7 pounds because I drink a lot of water and I exercise. As such, I'm not taking much from weight scale changes. Not yet, at least.
Been on tirzepitide for like a year and a half and never really had any side effects other than constipation. The shot yesterday hit me hard. Nauseous, diarrhea, broke out in sweats last night.
Same dose? Was anything else different like other meds or diet? Since starting back on semaglutide, I’m having little side effects if any. I’m still dropping weight at a healthy clip, but lifestyle and dietary changes are driving it just as much for me at this point. The sema helps, but I’m past the point where it can help me without me helping myself at the same time. Tirzepitide would probably kick it in to high gear, but I think it’s better for me to ride out my current plan until/if it stops working.
I’m actually working my way down on dosage. I was at 15, but have dropped back down to 10 the past couple of months.
sounds like it wasn't the shot if you've been on it for so long without any issues? could just be a regular illness
Just got my next order of semiglutide made. They are adding b12 to it for i guess reasons. I didnt say anything to them about feeling tired or anything of the sort
There was speculation that compounding places would have to add b12 or random elements so they could make the drugs and avoid court orders
This happened with my last order. No noticeable difference in effects, but the vial is fucking tiny and hard to get the liquid out, and it's a red color. Putting the red shit rather than the clear stuff into my body is a bit unnerving.
I'm down around a pound so far. It's neat that I've pretty much had zero food noises so far as well as my appetite disappearing.
I’m up 6 lbs on the bulk cycle weeee. Definitely seeing the lifts go up now that I’m eating like a horse
Already down to 197. 1mg first two weeks, 1.5mg last two weeks. Upping to 2mg today. Assuming much of lost weight is water from decreased carbs (from junk food). Certainly some fat, too. My metabolism is fairly good for my age and I exercise frequently. I do need to increase my water intake, though I drink a fair amount. No constipation, so I think my water intake is pretty good anyway. Food volume has dramatically dropped. No late night binges. Have not been eating at least 2 hours before bed. Walking through supermarket, buying junk food doesn't really interest me all that much. The one junk food I've been eating daily is pretzel rods dipped in queso. Not the worst thing ever and I'm not bingeing like I have often done. Energy is good, perhaps better. Part from not overeating poor foods (indirectly) and perhaps part from reta (directly). Apparently, second month is when reta moves beyond mere hunger alterations and slower gastric emptying into fat metabolism as well as insulin/glucose regulation.
Was 240-245 at end of August, weighed in at 211 this morning which is the lowest I’ve been since April 2021 when I was doing the weight loss contest on here. I haven’t tracked calories or anything during this time and had some blips between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I can’t complain about the pace I’m losing weight. I’ve been at the 7.5 dose for the past month-ish and hoping I can stay there for a while. If I really want to I can still eat a pretty big meal without too many issues, but most of the time it seems like I’m good after a few bites. So a good middle ground I guess. I haven’t worked out at all during this timeframe but got back on the Peloton this weekend after 2.5 years off. Days I don’t ride I plan to walk around for 20-30 minutes after dinner to move around/clear my head. Also have been doing 100 pushups and squats at night when I’m bored watching TV. Hoping I can keep this motivation. Feels like 199.9 is within reach if I can stay on track.
Breaking that 200 barrier was quite elating. My gym has the sliding weight scale so seeing it tip over when putting it on 200 was cathartic
Up 12 lbs in 5 weeks, weights moving a lot easier. Doing another 1-3 weeks of this then back on the sauce full strength
Yeah, I don’t really have a “goal weight” right now. I’m not sure there’s a specific number that will make me feel a certain way, but at least 199.9 feels like a milestone or something tangible to celebrate. I should have done a better job taking photos throughout the last few months so I’d have a better comparison. At times, my clothes seem to be roomier but hoping that adding some exercise to the equation starts to make it easier to notice when I look in the mirror or whatever.
I don't know why you are celebrating the fact you gained 12 lbs of fat or water weight in 5 weeks because you definitely did not put on 12 lbs of muscle mass.
Down 37 pounds (300 to 263), and still on 2.5 mg dosage. My doc said to just stay on the dose as long as it’s working. Pooping has improved with fiber supplements. I’ve been crushing pushups and bodyweight squats + stretching every morning. Somewhat hilariously, almost no one has noticed I’ve lost weight. At my height, I guess I hid it pretty well.
What were you running back when I was in Birmingham? You were tall thicc so never thought you were fat or anything, makes sense
I’ve typically been between 245-265. I’ve gotten down to 225 a couple when I was exercising hard, but never really sustained it longer than a year.
Congrats on the success so far. I’ve said it twenty times in here already but for me weightlifting has made all the difference in not getting the gaunt ozempic look so keep that stuff up!
Nice work, Tegg. Being 7'8" gives you a lot of surface area to hide it. But srs congrats on your health journey. GLPs are amazing and should be put in water like fluoride lol
Bumped up to 4mg on Sunday this week. 3mg the two weeks before. No negative sides this time, whereas previous jumps led to some minor nausea. Solid appetite suppression the first few days. Suppression still ongoing and noticeable. I never binge anymore. No desire to. Salt appeals to me more than sugar. Pretty much no desire to eat sweets. Hit the scale at 192.6 this morning. Was at 197 the day before, so I know much of the swing is fluid-based. However, I'm inclined to think that I was waterlogged the day before just based on how I felt. Regardless, 193 is the lowest I've registered. Will probably stick to 4mg/week from here on out until I drop down to a maintenance dosage.
Daily swings are fun to track if you can keep them in context. “Yeah I weigh a pound more than yesterday but I haven’t had my morning shit” kind of stuff.
