My early gripes: Pace should be more of a factor Computer d marks tighter than it should Cuts with the ball are labored even with high rated dribblers Auto switch on aerial balls goes to the wrong guy more than I've notice in previous FIFAs Pressing LB causes the player to hesitate making the ball go out a bit, which might be realistic for a pass, but since you also have to press LB to trigger runs it's pretty fucking annoying cause it loses me possession
I invested around 20k coins in like 40 Schalke/Dortmund players thanks to ChileanNole keeping tabs on big matchups for his pick em. Sold them for around 65k. 45k profit for not much work was nice. Have a bunch of Jansens and Ospinas I bought dirt cheap for next weekend Love these SBCs and how it drives up prices on cheap crap players. Most players from South American leagues and Euro leagues outside EPL/BL/LaLiga/Serie A were just discard players before and now have actual value which is nice
I don't remember. I've got plenty of English, Mexican, American, Argentinian and Brazilian players to sell though. Don't think international sold very well though
Is there somewhere I can read like a complete guide to FUT? I understand the basics but a lot of the shit you guys are saying is going way over my head. I'd like to get more into it. I'm struggling to finish The Journey. It was cool at first but there's not enough of a story to set off the grind of practice, match, practice, match, practice, match.
They are mainly talking about squad building challenges which is under single player games. You can build teams with your players for rewards. Say if one of the challenges is build a premier league team, you can sale your premier league players for higher than what they usually go for because people will be wanting to get the reward.. The only ones I have done is the gold upgrades. It's a pretty good addition though.
It seems like an awesome feature. I just always avoided it as it's clearly a money-grab for EA and that puts me off a bit. I guess my biggest question is about the best way to build my squad without spending money. I have a couple player packs from playing The Journey but they're all just loan players so I know they'll all expire eventually.
FUT was my favorite game mode until they added the FIFA points and jsut made it a cash grab. With the addition of Squad Building Challenges and FUT Weekend League, better players. more packs are available if you want to play for free. I did the super deluxe edition which means I get two premium gold packs every week for 20 weeks and I've spent $20 on packs from a free gift card I got so not much money. I've been able to build some very decent La Liga and Bundesliga squads. Player prices are a lot more reasonable this year and have gone down significantly this past week.
Yeah if you're not wanting to spend a lot go for a non Premier League team. You can do a decent EPL team but for the same coin you can do better in other leagues. I've built a decent La Liga team for way cheaper than in years past when I've gone all in on EPL.
I havent played FUT much before but the SBC's are a brilliant addtion. sets play a big role in the other UT games, they had to add an comparable aspect. still, I enjoy nothing more going into career mode and turning it into a training facility for the USMNT. I normally try to play every game but that limits how many prospects I can develop. I recall hearing that in 16, the weekly training sessions could potentially prevent a youth player from developing his physical attributes. was that correct and is it still the case? It was frustrating to have a bunch of 90+ potential prospects who cap out at 65 spd/acc/agi
Use the EASFC coins to purchase the UT rewards. If you have enough buy the loan players and the coin boosts but coin boosts is more important. Buy the 1000 ones first then the 200 ones because they use them in order that you purchased them. Normally I buy the super deluxe edition to get the extra packs but decided this year that instead of doing that I'd just spend the difference between regular and super deluxe on FIFA points so I got the packs up front rather than spread out over 20 weeks. Avoid using EPL squads because they're expensive as fuck. You can build a good LaLiga/Ligue 1/Serie A/Bundesliga squad relatively cheap especially compared to EPL. Be selective about when you sell players because all players can be useful at times thanks to SBCs. The marquee matchups each weekend will temporarily drive up prices on players for the top matchups of that week. You can try to invest in players you think will be rising in price They have a deal to do a special SBC for each EPL POTM. Last month one of the SBCs for it required a TOTW player so I bought IF Steklenberg and IF Allen because they were almost discard price and I might be able to sell for a nice profit on a future POTM SBC
I got lucky having invested in a bunch of Ospinas at 700 BIN and Janssen at 400-450 BIN for NLD. There is a new SBC to get 20 match loan legend Overmars. 1 of the challenges requires 3 Arsenal players and another one requires all Dutch players from at least 3 different leagues. Ospina is selling 2300-3000 and Janssen for 1200-1800
The best single piece of advice I can give you is this. Be lucky in your packs. It makes all the difference If you aren't lucky, you have to work really hard on investing and build up your fortune. Doing both of those is the best way to go
Get the coin bonus out of the catalog... you can get a bunch of coins you just gotta play a lot of games. It's pretty easy to build a cheap team that can compete if you are half way decent.
OMG I just finished the journey. Played the FA cup final to a 0-0 tie. Nailed my penalty upper 90. Gaz Walker fucking chipped his to the keeper to seal the loss. I'm fucking dying. This is amazing. Grind got old with the Journey but that was the perfect ending.
Started playing last week. I Got to div 3 online so now most games are tedious 1-0,1-1 type scores. They pretty much killed the skill moves, defenders are way too good, but i can understand why they did that. Lots of online games are like playing pinball with the ball just bouncing/rebounding around. Its kind of frustrating. The L2 shield button only seems to work with players with the strength attribute. The threaded through pass/lob passes (R1 button) are awesome. Can make passes that were impossible in 16. (Pace is more of a factor when you use this pass) Hate not being about to blow by people with skill moves, but its forcing me to get better at passing. The input delay is difficult to get used to, but it makes sense. Its more realistic for getting shots off since the ball has to be in a certain position first. I also like how players independently make forward runs or stop and come to you. You don't really have to use the LB/L1 button anymore. Game is completely different but i like it.
Is there some setting in FUT where you can turn your defenders into missles that win the ball constently that I don't know about? I'm getting railed by teams with low Chem and random players way too easily there their players are crazy fast and go right for the ball while mine can't make simple passes while my team is 100 chem.
Chemistry styles applied to players can boost stats. Shadow chem style is pace and defending so possible you're playing people with that applied

Bought for 14,500 and 14,750. Today they posted the EPL POTM for Hazard and one of them requires 2 EPL TOTW. They sold within minutes for 40k each
I actually hate the idea of FUT champions... I don't have time to play 40 games on the weekend. I barely have time to play during the week. The rewards are so ridiculous that the casual player has no chance.
Same here. I love FUT but barely have time to play during the week much less the weekend. One positive thing this has done is made the TOTW players much more common which in turn drives the cost or "regular" version players down. I have several 85+ players that were all purchased for less than 20k coins.
It took a lot of hubris even for EA to have even the slightest notion that "The Journey" would be enjoyable to play more than one version. I wish I had followed my gut and quit the second I saw that I was being loaned out despite leading the league in goals.
They're basically for the people who are in the FUT champions winning a ton and getting the TOTW packs. Or spending thousands of dollars. I'd love the SBC De Marcos for my LaLiga RB but 2 TOTW and overall team rating of 86? FOH
Yeah I was gonna try and get the Fekir one and De Marcos when I saw it on twitter. Got on and said fuck off and turned it right off. I haven't even tried the weekend league so there is no way.
I've had great pack luck in the past and did well with trading and can't come close to doing all these but there are people that are. I'm not really sure what people spend though, just guessing based on what I've seen I'd have in my club with good and bad pack luck and what these SBCs ask for. On Black Friday they released special packs that had like 60k or 80k packs and I saw someone do a breakdown on Reddit of the $ they made based on the cost of FIFA points. They sold out in less than 4 minutes and if people were using FIFA points they would've made like $6 mil in that time.
Did the Gameiro and Isco SBC challenges. Sold my Gameiro TOTW for a nice profit. My current lineup using a 4-1-2-1-2 (wide): GK: Oblak (87) LB: Marcelo (86) CB: Pepe (88) CB: Godin (88) RB: Carvajal (83) CDM: N'Zonzi (84 - TOTW) LM: Ribery (86) RM: Orellana (84 - TOTW) CAM: Isco (86 - SBC) ST: Gameiro (85 - SBC) ST: Benzema (87)
Probably gonna do the Can SBC even though it's bullshit you have to have a 85 rated team for a 83 card
I told Shaun before but any cards 84+ are selling for double their normal price if not more. I sold a lot of them that I wasn't using on my top squad and then after christmas ill buy some of them back.
Do y'all have any low rated cards that are beast for your team? I have Raul Bobadilla on a cheap bundesliga team and I have never had a better scoring record with any card I have ever used.
The ones I had weren't even selling for more than the quick sell price so just been holding on. Still have a couple that aren't selling.
