I love young French players. Umtiti and Coman are both beasts for me. I have 2 squads I use French Bundesliga 4-3-3 (false 9) Lloris, Danilo, Varane, Umtiti, Tresmoulinas, Nzonzi (TOTW), Castro (TOTW), Thiago, Costa (SBC), Muller, Coman. Will sometimes move Muller around in game and bring on TOTW Modeste. LaLiga 4-3-3 (2) Oblak, Carvajal, Godin, Laporte/Umtiti, Marcelo, NZonzi (TOTW), Isco (TOTW), Modric/Iniesta, Orellana, Griezmann/Gameiro (TOTW), Gaitan. Nzonzi was 20k and he's probably my favorite DM to use. I really like all the French CBs I use and they're all pretty cheap.
Tip of the cap to SBTide for telling me about Gabbiadini. Such an underrated striker. Semu Castillejo is a great cheap Spanish LM. Also Lucas Vazquez as a RM. Raphael Guerrero for Dortmund is very good too. My favorite strikers are Gameiro and Aduriz. Both fairly cheap.
Finally decided to start a Career Mode. Doing Leeds United again, but with a few differences from previous year. No initial signings to boost the squad and legendary difficulty instead of world class.

Anyone playing career mode still? I just started with Dortmund playing a 3-4-3 but more like Chelsea's version than dortmunds current one. Bought thomas Lemar and I have been playing him at LWB and he is already awesome at this position. Can't imagine how good he will be as he gets better. I always like to do another career mode around this time since they have changed some ratings and potentials and you have different players to go after. Are there any centerbacks or wingbacks that you guys like that would work in that formation?
bought the IF Pulisic yesterday before he left packs. as expected, he's fun as fuck to play with. plays well above his 81 rating imo.
Yeah a lot of time IFs are actually higher rated in game than what's listed on their card, especially with different chemistry styles applied. Futwiz will actually show you what they'd be rated at each position and you can apply chem styles to see how that would change it. 81 CAM / 83 RM/LM with basic 87 CAM / 88 RM/LM with maestro or engine I pulled him but haven't used him yet. Don't really play with a CAM but he will fit into my Bundesliga/France hybrid off the bench nicely
i love that futwiz feature. i ripped through a bunch of SBC packs to try and pack him but no luck... so I bought him at his cheapest point before he dropped out of packs. i like using him at CAM because he's all over the middle of the field, makes great runs forward, and is solid at finishing. i haven't had a huge amount of time to play this year, but between the web app and mobile app, I've done a ton of trading and SBCs and built a pretty fun squad.
The SBCs are a great addition this year that I hope they keep doing. It gives value to cards that a very little value previously. Early on I made a decent amount of coin just by scooping up players before possible big matches then selling them when they posted the marquee matchups. Nice squad. That new Keita inform is insane. i pack-pulled the 87 MOTM Thiago. Pretty stoked with that pull. I've been running with a bundesliga/la liga hybrid that uses Thiago and IF Iborra (untradable) in the midfield... Iborra is a freaking animal. Also, I'm a big fan of N'zonzi this year. Even his base card is beastly.
IF Iborra is amazing. Use him in my LaLiga squad. IF Carrasco is incredible too. Rotate Griezmann/IF 86 Gameiro at ST and IF Aspas/IF Orellana/IF Rafinha at RW. Amazing how cheap good IF LaLiga guys are Use 3rd IF Isco at CM. I love him
New Gameiro IF 87. With Maestro he's a 95 ST. Bought him for 53k and IF 86 Gameiro I had immediately sold when I listed 45k buy it now. Not bad for a pretty decent improvement

I think your 86 IF Gamiero sold so quickly because its a card people use for the Atletico Madrid SBC so that you don't have to use Griezemann. I like all of Gamiero's cards in this years game. For some reason, even his base card is solid for me.
I'm currently sitting around 30k coins. The TOTW ones I'm seeing around 23-24k. I could be way off and the TOTKS will be in that same range, I just assumed it'd be up in the 40-50k
TOTKS is in the 40-50 k range. I just assumed it would drop in value a bit once Team of the Season stuff starts on Friday.
They typically do those by league and it's like one per week so depends on when they release Ligue 1. Is he going to get TOTS?
I would rather sell Griezmann than that newest Gameiro. I've loved every card of his I've used and keep upgrading him. For my French Bundesliga squad I actually like Müller best in my false 9 over IF Modeste or PEA but he fits false 9 the best
I don't think so. If he does, it's bullshit. There are two strikers on his own team that should get TOTS over him. I could see EA doing it though because that card would be hot as hell. I just thought his knockout stage card would drop because with TOTS folks are prolly just gonna be selling shit to buy packs or TOTS players. That's my hope.
The new Modeste IF released today looks like an animal. Might have to try him out for my french squad... might wait though because he might get a TOTS card.
If anyone is still playing career mode Nathan ake is an absolute stud. I've played him at LB in a 4 man defense a bit but primarily as LCB in a 3 man D and occasionally as a LWB and he is quality everywhere. Pace and passing ability rare in a CB. I've done some training to get him better at defending but beyond that he's an awesome player in this game. Andreas Christensen who is much higher rated never seems to play well for me

i think it costs something like 200k+ to complete the Young Player of the Season SBC. If you have the cards in your team, I say go for it. His card looks sick. I'm kinda holding out hope that he will be in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season squad.
They're pretty costly to do too, I have only done 1. They did Scream Team stuff at Halloween and got the RW Douglas Costa but that's the only one I've done.
