FIFA 18 Thread- "Unlucky"

Anyone have a Serie A squad and if so what strikers do you use? I currently have NIF of each of Immobile, Mertens and Dybala at CAM. I like Dybala and Mertens but feel like Immobile could use an upgrade.

Higuain seems too slow to me. Is Immobile's IF much of an upgrade?

Also, Scream Cuadrado or OTW Bernardeschi at RM?

 

I have a Serie A squad with 4-3-3 (5) with NIF Mertens at CF

Personally I plan to go with US Cuadrado but with the IF, OTW Bernardeschi got pace boosted and looks pretty nice.

Immobile IF I'm not sure about how much of an upgrade it is but SIF Immobile looks incredible

Use him in my Pirlo squad with IF Insigne at LW, IF Bonaventura at CM and then replaced TOTGS Mbappe with SIF Thauvin after I upgraded Mbappe to OTW

 

I finally looked up what TOTGS meant because I didn’t know and always read it in my head as “Team of the game season” even though I knew it wasn’t correct and made no sense.

 

Before long we will have TOTKO and TOTS to go with TOTY and TOTGS. Then with it being a WC year maybe TOTT

Did the TOTW tradeable SBC with mostly untradeables I got for the Lunar New Years rewards. Holding on to the pack because this TOTW is underwhelming outside of the three strikers + Vertonghen.

 

Did untradeable TOTW the same way and got the 81 Chilean guy

I pulled an untradable Asencio. If I sell my current guy and move new Asencio in to my team will I lose his stats?

Been making bank off selling players for the lunar New Years SBCs rather than completing them. I just try to complete them, and if I can’t then I sell off who I tried to use. Nonrares, bronzes in silvers in certain positions in these puzzles can go for 5000+. Sell 2 or 3 and probably come out better than you would from the packs.

 

Pretty good SBC live right now, only requires 11 gold rares with 100 chem. Easily doable with one league even with a couple out of position. Reward is a rare mega pack. Pulled an 83 Serie A inform, Ter Stegen, Quaresma and a couple other useful players.

 

I got a TOTW Under. Worth it but still disappointing :(

Yesterday at one point they posted 2 for 1 Ultimate Packs. I bought one.

I got Prime Ronaldinho

 

I'm sure I have selective memory to an extent but I really think the only player worth over 100k I've packed this year has been Griezmann. Pretty happy with both of my squads but I really don't see a way to make the icon jump without another big stroke of luck like that.

 

I sold him since I had OTW Neymar untradeable. So far I have used some of the coins to do Prime Rijkaard SBC

 

Packed and sold off Aubameyang from SB rewards, nicely doubled up my coins total. Been slacking majorly on SBC completion, haven't touched any league SBC's that have been released since Ligue 1.

 

Just finished a draft tournament. Easily got 4 wins. One premium gold back (3 rares) and one premium gold jumbo (7 rares). One rare player total. Good use of 15k coins.

 

Starting to work on the Russian league SBC for Promes for a Dutch squad.

Looking at a 3-5-2 as I already had IF de Ligt, bought Virgil in the middle and then SIF Ake on the left.

Have US Memphis at LM, Sneijder at CAM, Prime Rijkaard at LCM and IF Locadia at LS.

Sold SIF Dost or used him in Vieira SBC, I forget so probably get him back for RS, SBC Promes for RM and then not sure on RCM. Might go Strootman or Wijnaldum for now. Can’t afford 90 Gullitt, maybe 86 Gullitt.

 

I used the OTW Neymar in my draft tournament. He felt like a cheat code. I could literally just dribble around players without using skill moves.

The top 3 is so fun. If Coman gets his expected upgrade and goes +2 to 84 even more so. Sub on Salah for Coman 2nd half.

I don’t skill but I’ve learned a few using these guys. Doing a heel flick can get you past a guy then spin move or fake shot in the box opens things so much

 

Ratings refresh today. Grabbed the Scream Cuadrado as he was the only IF I was eyeing that looked like he might get a boost.

His normal card was very OP, except for the fact that he's probably missed a handful of wide open one on one goals. I usually don't rely on my wide midfielders to have good shooting, but he gets into such good position I feel like I almost have to boost his shooting.

Bundesliga: Kimmich, Naldo, Ginter, Goretzka, Bailey, Coman, Aranguiz

EPL: Salah, Otamendi, Ederson, Ake, Alonso

Ligue 1: Mbappe, Fekir, Thauvin, Fabinho, Lopes, Balotelli, Marcelo

LaLiga: Parejo, Coutinho, Saul

Other: Promes, Telles, Lozano, Arias

A decent number of my IF/OTW/PTG should get boosts. Very excited though based on projections Ginter, Ake, Promes and Lozano won't get boosted even if they get an update.

 

So I don't remember how this works. Should I sell Goretzka on hype for 300k (bought for 205k) and then buy him back after a day or so? I play like once a week so I can be patient with a minor temporary downgrade.

 

Guessing game really. Depends on how much people stocked up and when they sell.

If a ton get listed on hype right now then it might be better to sell after the upgrade. If people are mostly holding on until after the upgrade then better to sell now before they flood the market.

 

Umtiti should be an 88 not 83

 

I honestly haven't really watched Barca much this season.

Alba and Ter Stegen are the ones getting big bumps (think both are expected to get +2)

 

He's the best CB in Europe to many pundits

Anyway, if there was one card to invest in today what would you pick?

 

Tough because so many of them have inflated pricing built in in the hype. Thought this post made some sense but idk, I'm not an investor.

 

To me it's probably too late, but what he just posted makes sense especially with Prime Icon SBCs. Any IF over 85 has value. PTG/OTW is my thing.

I bought 3 Salah OTW cards when I got Vieira. Bought them around 340-350k and now the lowest BIN is 645,000 (612,750 after tax). I sold one of them to finish funding Vieira I believe but still have 2

 

EPL upgrade out early. My Salahs, Otamendi and Ederson all +1

 

According to the notification, players who get upgraded are getting replaced in clubs? Did I read that right?

 

No. You keep the regular version of his card and those aren't in packs any more. Upgraded/downgraded cards now in packs and certain special cards are updated but not guaranteed to

 

Yeah that's what I thought. The notification was poorly worded: "Ratings Refresh players will have their new upgraded version replace the old version". I finally found a screenshot of it

 

For example Son was upgraded from 82 to 83. His IFs are not upgraded, they were already 84 and 86

Basically my whole Serie A team got an upgrade. Don’t have any of them IF though, so doesn’t really matter other than to validate my selection of players.

 

Apparently upgrades don’t apply to ultimate scream. Fuck.

 

My IF Insigne went +2.

My Allan didn’t get upgraded because his upgrade wasn’t enough.

Wish it had been Bundesliga today, can’t get that excited about Serie A. I actually sold off most of that squad.

So Bundesliga/LaLiga/Ligue 1 Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday in some order then rest of World all at once on Monday 5th?

 

Yeah Bundesliga is the one I’m looking out for. SIF Kimmich should be massive and I think thread favorite Aranguiz is slated to get a big boost too. Hope one of IF Brandt or Gnabry gets one too but I haven’t seen them on any projections. Just love both those cards
