I spend way too much time scouting looking for 4* or better 15-17 year olds. I have 24 scouts and that is their sole purpose.
24 scouts I think I had/have 6 scouts with MK Dons in the Championship. On this note I really need to fire this up again.
Lincoln. You need to buy Lincoln. Turned out to be a god for this Brighton Save. Him Rui Pedro and Tielemans :D
Found that getting the youngsters early with a 1m initially and 1m over 48 months is an effective strategy.
No Stamina so the first couple years got to focus on that and limit him to about 60 minutes a game but he's turned world class
In like FM 14 I used to get tons of youth players from the top teams in England, Spain, and Germany to Rosenborg because of bullshit homegrown rules. Then sit them in the youth ranks or loan them in country till they developed and reached HG status then dominated.
It's been 4ish seasons since my last update. Somehow I just managed to win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal this season, my first wins in either competition.
Stopped playing for a while on 15. Grabbed 16 last night. Pretty excited to get back into FM with more time now.
Buying Stellaris sometime this week. Might have to say goodbye to FM. Kinda burnt out with my Brighton save. Too good and my guys are just coming of age
Just started an FM14 save on my laptop with CD Marino. They're in the Spanish Second Division B1 and more interestingly, are located in the Canary Islands. Starting payroll is 30k p/w, $0 transfer budget, and my only has is rated a 3 in judging potential. This should be fun.
Sitting in 6th with MK Dons right after the New Year. So many damn injuries right now and I need to splash some cash and find a right winger.
Just starting season 3 with Stade de Brest in France. Finished 4th in season 1, via GD :( Went into the final game day of season 2 tied on points but in first on GD. Me and #2 both lost, and 3rd drew so I won the title lol. End of season 2 new owners bought the team, kept the job, and now they're approving basically everything I ask for. They even proposed to buy the stadium
Just got to December, first year of Ligue 1. Contract expires in 6 months, so the board requested a meeting with me, to discuss if I wanted a new contract. I felt like I had to say yes. However, I wonder if I'd have said invest the money elsewhere, if they'd still offer me later in the season
Hey friends I just won the Championship with MK Dons on the last day of the season while never in 1st place until the end. I'm in my second season and pulled my own Leicester and was predicted to be relegated. Now fielding a Premier League team that can stay up should be a challenge.
In my second year with Swansea to get back into the software and such. Played pretty well in the first year getting to the semis in both cups but just couldn't get it done. Solid 10th in the league. Having a hell of a time keeping Gylfi from leaving. Got 55 mil from Chelsea for Ki. This year has been improved for sure, funny enough sitting 10th but only 3 points off 5th.
Nope for me. I ended up starting a Boreham Wood save when my Swansea one got corrupted some how. Just finished the first year broke as shit but won the National. I have no transfer budget and we cant afford any improvements or expansions. Hopefully we wont struggle too much in League 2 as long as I can find some quality loan players. Had Dion Sembie-Ferris from Colchester last year. Won player of the year with 29 goals and 16 assists.
I'm in 19th in the beg of January and 2 points out of the drop zone and just made a board request for more transfer funds. They agreed and gave me $35 mil. Cheap bastards wouldn't do shit at the beginning of the season.
It's just boring. Can't buy anyone, everyone can buy your players sure the intake is ok but Yeah Boring.
I was just thinking, I've been playing since FM 2011 -- what are some of you favorite wonderkids By position not game: Maxym Koval (GK( Predragg Rajkovic (GK) Kyriakos Papapapapapappapapadoulous (CB) Bruno Martins Indi (CB) Eder Alvarez Balanta (CB) Doria (CB) Gino Peruzzi (RB) Gaston Gil Romero (MC) Lucas Romero (MC) Mathias Kranevitter (MC) Mario Pugliese (MC) Lorenzo Crisetig (MC) Youri Tielemans (MC) Lincoln (AML) Zeli Ismail (AMR) Andrija Zivkovic (AMR) Nicusor Stanciu (AMR/C/L) Dorrin Rotariu (AMC) Jano (AMC) Adam Maher (AMC) Angel Correa (AMC) Pavel Savitsky (AML) Zakaria Bakkali (AML/C) Yaya Sanogo (ST) Cedric Bakumba (ST) Ademilson (ST) Gabriel Barbosa (ST)
Can't remember his name right now for the life of me... but there was a Brit who looked just like Mix who scored 40+ goals for me 2 years in a row at Leicester (before Leicester was cool)
lol Zeli Ismail got his contract terminated at Wolves after 4 years of loan stints. Now there's a player that doesn't give a single fuck. Bolton's assistant once tipped him to be the first £100m player.
FM 2011, I think. Brazilian lefty midfielder Juliano. Built and played like Schweinsteiger. He was a monster on set pieces and long shots. Picked him up in his early twenties for Coventry City. He captained my squad all the way to the top of the BPL.
I want to start playing this game, FIFA Manager mode is not deep enough for me anymore. Couple of questions: - Do all of you buy the game, is there a good way to get if for free? - Are there tutorial for newbies? From what I've seen this game is extremely thorough so I dont want to get overwhelmed at first.
Buy it... if you don't really care that much about current year... buy the edition from the year before. Prices are usually slashed 80-90% once the new one comes out. You can find a few reads online... but really it's just getting in there and figuring it out from the start. The game is very different if you pick an EPL team or La Liga team than if you start with a semi-pro regional team. Different strategies, timelines, etc.
What would be your recommendation for a person playing for the first time? In FIFA Manager Mode, I usually start with a League One or Championship team and move them up. I'm fine going lower on FM if it makes more sense.
I would pick something like that to get a feel for the flow/rules/scouting/transfers before trying something lower. Maybe even plan on doing 2-3 seasons with a pretty normal team and then deep-dive with a low-level team. Make sure to quickly learn the national/league transfer rules, especially regarding work permits, etc.
I'd start with a mid-tier team in one of the big 5 leagues just so you can get into the transfer stuff and be able to run some tactics outside of a 4-4-2 hoof it long. Get the feel of it for a season or two and then go.
Since I'm ITT I was playing last night. Second Knockout, Leg 2 of Europa @Bologna. Lost home leg 1-0. Go down 3-1 in 2nd half with 20 left. End up winning the game 4-3 and advancing on away goals
Yeah don't start in Conference or something. That low level is not for beginners at all, its incredibly frustrating losing money and trying to win.
Finished 2nd in the league, PSG has too much money to compete with. Made it to the quarters of Europa, losing 2-1 to Leverkusen. Had to sell quite a few people, as their contracts were up in a year, and they wanted more than I wanted/could. Drew Shakhtar, Liverpool, and Milan in my CL group. Probably the best group to get being in the 4 pot.
Your life will never be the same, it is so engrossing. I need to get back into the mix, I haven't played in over a year or so since buying a new computer.
Everton just got relegated in my Swansea save.....a year after finishing second in the league. Poor Eddie Howe definitely getting sacked after taking over.
