This came out today. Haven't started it but after reading the first few paragraphs of Alan Sepinwall's review, he was not a fan. He said he hoped it would be similar to Happy Endings but the characters/story line didn't do it for him. I'll still give it a try.

3 episodes in, still don't know how I feel about it, but it has some funny moments..

EDIT: Binged watched all 8 episodes. It's not "This Is Us" but it's entertaining....

 

Digging the music...this is like a lot of Netflix shows.. solid but nothing super special. Not as good as Love or Master of None

Thru 3 episodes, I am enjoying this. 3rd episode was the best so far. Good music.

 

I enjoyed it. Agree it's not as good as Masters of None, but it's a bit unfair to compare anythign to that because it's so good.

I put it just under Love, but better than GLOW

 

This is like Happy Endings except less funny, with more drama elements, and much less likable characters.

I was hoping this would be a comedy instead of a dramedy. Oh well, still was an entertaining watch even though it was disappointing, especially considering who the cast is. This should have been a gold standard type show, it will just get lost in the shuffle though and might only last 2-3 seasons. Have to think 2 is a given, my guess is that enough people will watch it purely based on the cast to justify a second season.

My favorite line was "why is fogo de chao open"

 

it gets better....we almost gave up. Glad I stuck with it

About a 50/50 hit/miss rate with the jokes, IMO.

 

In the first 2 minutes, one child calls another child a cunt. What turned you off about that?

 

Nah it was Key and peele dude banging some chick then she's like go get a condom etc

 

Literally 20 seconds after the "going to get a condom" scene a child calls another child a cunt.

Episode three had me dying!

Especially the jerking porn.

 

Just watched it. Was legit laughing. Fred savage is great in this, This whole group is my age so its fun to watch

binged this weekend with my wife. it was ok. like others have said none of the characters were very likable.

my two favorite parts were them playing tennis and then the guy with the ropes saying he was Alfred Molina in Spider-man 2.

 

Thought Kevin Arnold was the funniest character, but the show wasn't that funny.

 

Nat Faxon has a very punch-able face

 

Struggled through the first episode. Not sure if I'll continue. You all nailed it with the unlikeable characters.

Jon is hilarious though.

Hope this gets a third season. I'll never understand Netflix's renewal policy.

 

I actually like Nick. He's like an independently wealthy loser. It's kind of fascinating.
