Haven't read that yet, should I add it to my waiting list? I'm going to finish Book 3 of Hunger Games tonight. Then I want to reread A Clash of Kings.
Discussion for parts 1-3 of 11/22/63 starts tomorrow. Either get started soon or wait for the next book!
I was thinking of trying it over the summer. Nothing really replaces the void of finishing ASOIAF though.
Fuck yeah indeed. I copypasta the original post from the thread and placed in the Introduction thread here, as well as starting a thread for this weeks book. I guess we can now have a separate thread for each book, one has already been started for 11/22/63. Thanks, chanman !
ASOIAF has supplanted LotR as my favorite series of books. Nothing can top it IYAM. I disliked The Dark Tower books. Read some shit to cleanse the pallet (join us for a few months), then go back and re-read ASOIAF. It's better the second time.
Arkie Proud Can we maybe get a thread pinned for the next weeks' choices to encourage/make voting easier
It's there, called "Introduction". Let me see if I can pin it... EDIT: I can't pin it. Not that I can figure anyway.
I'm not going to discourage any conversation of books here, part of the book club or not. However the way I see it is that the Book Club forum is for reading books we've read as a group, and the Books thread is for books in general.
Dark Tower 1-4 are really good. 5-7 suck and I would almost suggest not even reading them and just ending with 4. If you start the series, give it some time bc 1 is kind of weird and you have no idea what's going on for a while. It makes more sense if you come back and read it again after the others. If you make it a little ways into 2 you will be completely hooked imo and it just keeps getting better from there. Well until shitty ass 5 starts 1-4 came out over a span of 20 years then he just pumped 5-7 out in like four years after he almost died in that van accident. Like he just wanted to hurry up and finish it and slapped something together. 11/22/63 has been a very fast paced and addictive read for anyone who's thinking about still getting in on it
Been wanting to ask this question for a while. How the fuck does Game of Thrones have its own board? We just now got a board to discuss every book ever written, and there's one just for that series? And there's only like 6 or 7 boards total? Been scratching my head on that one for a while. And no I haven't read that shit
Because between the books and the news and the show and the needs for different thread for all of them for spoiler reasons. It actually gets used a pretty decent amount.
Agree it's the best; I enjoyed 1-3 a lot though. I originally read them in high school though so idk if they'd hold up for me now
