Relegation battle here we come
Premier League, we hardly knew ya.
Got this shit up and streaming. Let’s see what goes down.
That was a soft penalty
Announcers talking about how the defense is more compact but still a lot of open space for the counterattack
I don’t know enough about soccer to get technical but the passing seems really sloppy.
Odoi has been ridiculously bad today
Man fuck this.
The defense needs to find a way to stop conceding goals at will. If Jokanovic cannot figure out a way (another defensive assistant or a slight change in tactics) to correct this, he might be the first manager sacked. His decision to take off Le Marchand for Cairney while McDonald and Kamara were both sitting on yellow cards was baffling and partially led to an avoidable sending off of McDonald.
Just an awful game. Need something from the Huddersfield game next Monday.
Kamara is such a fuckstick I don't want to see him on the pitch again. He was a disgrace Saturday. He had a good shot at scoring on the play where he dove and got the yellow instead, and only the good graces of the referee kept him from being sent off in the second half which would have left us two men down. He's got physical talent but he plays completely out of control. He needs to be lent to a Championship side (skip the obvious joke that we're playing like a Championship side)
He reminds me so much of Jozy. Big and should be physical, but horrible touch and always goes down if someone breathes on him.
Tim Ream full transcript: Fulham defender opens up on what's going wrong at Craven Cottage
Read everything the defender had to say on playing for the manager, players not pulling their weight and what happens next
Are the players playing for manager?
“I don’t think it has anything to do with the manager to be honest with you.
"We’re not playing for ourselves and for each other first and foremost and there’s no togetherness.
"We give up a goal and heads go down and today it was a bit different, we had a little bit more of the ball and in the second half we came out with a little bit more fight in us and started going at Bournemouth.
"We gave up a second goal and that’s when heads just really dropped.
"There’s no fight amongst the group right now and I said midweek, we’re not a team at the minute we’re a group of individuals who don’t look like they want to stay in this league and until that changes and guys, myself included, step up even more, it’s going to stay this way."
After defeat to Sunderland you were embarrassed and then got really good, same might happen after Cardiff?
“I felt the same thing. I don’t know why (not), I don’t know that everyone grasps what the situation is.
"It’s hard to describe, you don’t want to single anybody out. It’s not any one individual, it’s the group, it’s the collective.”
Are the too many new faces?
“No I don’t think you can blame that on the new guys.
"I don’ think that’s fair on them, I don’t think that’s fair on the guys who are here.
"There’s just not that same mentality and determination. I think too many guys are happy to skate through and not put in the effort that maybe we put in last season.
"That’s down to every individual.
"We have to look at ourselves first before pointing fingers, this guy and that guy, you have to look in the mirror, it’s easy to say that I know.
"Unless you’re willing and ready to raise your own standards you can’t expect other people to raise their own."
When you mention your frustration - do you see that among team-mates?
"Yeah, and that's natural.
"Everybody in there wants to win games, everybody wants to be further up the table, everybody wants to score goals and concede as many as we are.
"It's not anything special, it's not anything new.
"There's definitely a frustration we're not picking up results, and not winning games and not conceding so many.
"It's not a frustration with this player or that player, it's more of a frustration at the situation, not one thing that's going on."
How bad is that lack of confidence?
"It's a huge issue. That goes back to the mentality.
"Okay, so we concede a goal, what are we going to do about it?
Are we going to crumble or are we going to try and change things?
"After the first goal we looked like we were going to try and change things; we came out in the second half and looked like we were going to do something about it, and for some reason the second goal goes in, and that's when heads go down.
"It's human nature to a certain extent, but you still have to fight. It's not acceptable to just cave in and roll over."
How crucial is next week at Huddersfield?
"Every game's crucial; it doesn't matter whether it's Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Liverpool, we have to start getting results, getting three points. We need to be more solid all over the pitch."
I have zero confidence right now, but really need 3 points out of Huddersfield.
What the fuck is Slav doing? You have a crucial game Monday and yet you trot out our A team in a cup game where City still is going to beat us 5-1 then everyone is exhausted for Huddersfield.
Well that was quick
So as expected, this is a total waste. This is the first time I've started to get a feeling that Slav may not be up to it.
I didn’t watch. Were they even competitive?
Basically the entire game was played in our half. The talent difference was very evident. So many times city would just zig zag through our defenders like they were kids. I think total shots was like 27 to 5. All that being said, we didn't look the worst I've seen us and could have been a lot worse. Rico had some good saves, but if City was more on with their shots, could have easily been 5 or 6 to nil. I'm scared for Huddersfield now though. No fresh legs for Monday.
Only one change from City. Le Marchand comes on for Ream. Hopefully the guys are ready to go. This is crucial.
Is MacDonald hurt?
No, I think they are just going with the same lineup that played against City bc they looked ok. I'd rather have Anguissa in there anyways.
Our defense is so fucking embarassing. 3 open guys on a cross, easy finish.
1st home goal in 8 matches for Huddersfield. Fulham. Everyones slumpbreaker.
This squad is so embarrassing they deserve to be relegated, show some fucking pride and grit
Did I hear this is the first halftime lead Huddersfield has had since February?
He’s gotta be fired if they don’t pull something out of their ass here right?
Dead man walking, please don’t get desperate and hire Fat Sam
Depressing. We may not get another point before the end of the year.
need to make a manager change now
anyone wake up early to watch the game? 2-0 seems respectable. We’re really in trouble now though with cardiff, newcastle, huddersfield, and southampton all picking up points.
Fulham played well, just couldn’t finish and a couple of mental lapses did them in.....had Liverpool in their heels
Can the new boss save us? Or is he same as the old boss?
Didn't expect to wake up to this news. Loved Slav and all he has done for us and feel he will be held in high regard at Fulham for a long time, but something wasn't working and had to change. Getting zero points from the Cardiff, Bournemouth, Huddersfield stretch was devastating. Have to have 3 from Southampton or I feel the season is over and this gives Claudio 2 weeks to get ready.
Happy and hopeful for y’all
So let’s see what Ranieri can do. Must win imo
I like the lineup except for Mawson being in over Ream.
Case in point. Terrible by Mawson there
Couldn’t complete a series of passes all game until that sequence. Maybe we progressed right before our eyes
Beautiful workup to that goal.
Theres’s the Sess we know!
The last 20 minutes were a complete 180 from the first 25
Well that stat basically shows how bad our defense is. Most goals conceded among any team in Europe’s top 5 leagues. Need to buy some defenders in the window. Bought all these defenders who suck and we still have to play Odoi. Meanwhile Targett looking like one of the best players on the field.
Great goal, but I dread the 3rd Saints goal.
I don’t like removing Schurrle for Kamara
Massive. Rico was great today.
