Re: Official Fulham Thread -- It is a goal. And it was Duff. bump for wolves I'm predicting 9 points in the next 3 matches against wolverhampton, bolton, and sunderland
Re: Official Fulham Thread -- It is a goal. And it was Duff. one damn point According to gamecast it seems like we dominated play but couldn't shoot for shit
Re: Official Fulham Thread -- It is a goal. And it was Duff. sucks that I couldn't follow this match since I'm so busy at work but hell yeah at the 3-0 result 2 goals for Dempsey plus one from Hangeland. Also a fourth goal by Zamora disallowed by what I'm sure was an example of incompetence from the official. Good win
Re: Official Fulham Thread -- It is a goal. And it was Duff. Dempsey is now Fulham's all-time leading EPL scorer http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2011/April/DempseyBoltonReaction.aspx#ixzz1Kly5SPfN
Re: Official Fulham Thread -- 2011 Academy Champions suck it Southampton Kit Symons was understandably proud of his Under 18 side after they secured the Premier League Group A title against Leicester City in dramatic fashion last weekend. Going into the final league game of the season, it was a two-horse race between Fulham and Southampton with the Saints needing to better Fulham’s result in order to finish top. The chances of a league title looked slim for Kit Symons’ boys, with Leicester reaching the half-time interval holding a 3-0 advantage. But a dramatic turnaround saw the Whites net five second-half goals to secure the title in some style. “I think it goes without saying that we are all very proud,” said Symons. “It’s been a great season for the Under 18s and this has capped a wonderful year for us all. We’ve made a little bit of history in terms of winning an academy title for the first time and it’s a sign of what is hope will be a bright future. “It was a staggering 90 minutes of football and one of those games that just took your breath away at times. We’ve gone from frustration one minute, to elation the next. But it just shows that you just can’t give up. “The first-half was probably the worst performance of the season to be honest. There were too many mistakes, which were very uncharacteristic, and at times we were all over the place – and what a time for that to happen. “There were some words of encouragement as well as some constructive criticism shall we say at half-time and fortunately we got the response that we all wanted to see. “At 3-0 down it was difficult to comprehend, because we had got ourselves into such a good position and on the brink of something very special. But we came dangerously close to letting it slip through our fingers, which would have been massively disappointing because the boys deserved this. “We had to go for it – and sometimes these things come off and sometimes they don’t. Fortunately it was to be our day. “The second-half was fantastic and not only did we create and take those chances, the boys worked extremely hard in turning things around and showed a desire that was testament to what we are trying to achieve here. “Of course, this has capped a memorable six months or so for me personally, but credit should be given to everyone within the Academy – it’s not just about the players and myself as a coach, but a whole team of people. “It was the culmination of a lot of hard work, and let’s not forget the work that Gary Brazil did before me, because he put a lot of that in place and set the foundations. This Academy has been heading in the right direction for a long time and winning the title certainly underlines that. “We’re going from strength-to-strength and this really is an exciting time to be part of the Fulham Academy.”

Re: Official Fulham Thread -- 2011 U-18 EPL Champions There is a lot of chat this weekend that Hughes is going to opt of his contract after the season. Strange that his contract has an opt out after 1 year. Rumored to be going to Aston Villa.

Re: Official Fulham Thread -- Dominating Europa League once again been following the guys in the recaps and when I can get a stream, but always forget to post here. Will change that.
Re: Official Fulham Thread -- On the Riise Unless we majorly fuck up at home against Crusaders we'll play either NK Domzale or RNK Split next
Wow I thought there were 3 or 4 Fulham guys. This is much different than I remembered. The thread is actually full of BM posts and Clint Dempsey support.
http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2011/August/JolVillaPreview.aspx Martin Jol revealed that Mousa Dembele will be included in Saturday’s match day squad for Fulham’s opening game of the 2011/12 season against Aston Villa at the Cottage (KO 3pm), whilst Simon Davies and Bjorn Helge Riise miss out through injury. Both players will return to training next week. Looking ahead to Saturday’s game during Friday afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Martin Jol was clearly looking forward to returning to the Premier League stage in front of a sell out crowd at the Cottage on Saturday “We have a sell out crowd tomorrow so it will be a great atmosphere,” said Jol. “The most important thing is putting three points on the board. “This season I want to get more points, more goals and concede less. Two years ago this Club played in a major European final. Of course, you need a bit of luck but I feel that we’ve got a squad that can do well in the cup competitions as well.” Fulham have certainly done their homework on Saturday’s claret and blue opponents and Jol is certainly not underestimating the task at hand, with Villa possessing a number of highly dangerous attacking players in their ranks. “We know everything about them [Villa],” said Jol. “We know their style, their strengths and their weaknesses. I know Darren [Bent] from Spurs and he’s a terrific striker. “Shay Given is a world class goalkeeper and N’Zogbia was probably one of the players all the clubs would have liked to have bought this summer. They’ve brought in a few players and they don’t have a lot of injuries in their squad so I don’t think they have any problems.” Jol has an almost fully fit squad to choose from for the opening game of the season and is hoping Bobby Zamora will remain injury free this season to lead the line as Fulham compete in both domestic and European competitions. “If you look in Europe to find someone like him it’s not easy, Jol explained. “He’s gifted and he’s a very good player. He can receive the ball, turn and he’s got technique. “I would like to keep him fit. Last year he had a few injury problems but this year he was playing the day after he came back in for training. I played him in a game after just three games and he was fit. Hopefully he will stay fit. “The most important thing for any team, even the top teams, is the one or two players who can make the difference and he has been that player for Fulham.” Cliffs: Villains are about to get fucked up
Disappointing start to the season. Plenty of chances created by Fulham. Looked far the better team till maybe the last 10-20 min. With as bad as we've been on the road the last couple years we need every point at home. Givens had a couple great saves there.
Was really pissed that I didn't get to watch the game today. I thought that this was a great opportunity to start the season off with a win.
Every opportunity was there. Aston Villa will be their normal 7-12 team this year, but man, there were too many chances to not convert one. This was one of those games that really should have gone Fulham's way. Dempsey didn't show much all day. Hope its not like early last year where it seems like most matches end up tied.
Yeah I would hope so. Funny to see the FFC facebook page yesterday during the game. Fans jumping off the ledge like crazy; calling for Jol's head, etc. Apparently we missed a bunch of chances and in general played as if we had a 3-0 aggregate lead going into the game
wasn't watching either but according to the fulham website we got off to a great start and then QPR just gave up
