Doing some office cleanup and found this. Great day and four Americans on the pitch that day between the two clubs. We had Bocanegra, McBride, and Dempsey. Friedel was in goal for Blackburn
watching the final match of the '08 season where we needed to beat Portsmouth to avoid relegation https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2020/april/12/portsmouth-v-fulham-watch-live
His qualifications are: Soccer fan Billionaire dad You and I can only check off one of those points so in that regard I guess he is twice as qualified as we are.
#Fulham So I’m a relatively new futbol fan, especially EPL/Championship. Looks like the lads are in 3rd place, how exactly does promotion work? I read an article, but still don’t quite get it. Top two teams are automatic promotion and then 3-6 play each other for the final promotion? What do y’all think are the chances Fulham goes up? Would be wonders for my interest level/excitement
yes the 3 plays 6 ina semifinal and 4 plays 5....home and away ...... then winners play a one game in wembley and winner goes up Fulham went up last time same way, they have a great shot
Btw Fulham is a great team to support if your new, Cravens Cottage is such a cool venue and Fulham is American friendly as it gets
Welcome Edit: mc415 beat me to the explanation. While more nervewracking than qualifying 1st or 2nd, it's a lot of fun being in the playoff. The Wembley game against Villa 2 years ago is one of the great moments in recent club history and was so cool to watch. I haven't seen betting odds, but I'd think we're the favorite to win the playoff, though it's a crapshoot in normal times, much more so now. Of course there's still an outside shot we can make the second spot -- you don't know who will be in form once play starts again.
Yea I went to a match last August where they played Blackburn when my family and I were in London. Had an absolute blast and I loved Craven cottage, started following them ever since.
Fantastic team to support. Just watch the upcoming games and you’ll be officially hooked. A lot of the games coming up should be on espn+. Sat vs Brentford is and I assume both the games about Leeds and WBA should be as well. Between Espn+ and Fulham fc tv subscription it makes it super easy to follow even if they aren’t in the prem next year.
Funny that on TV they showed the lineup as a 4-3-3 with Kebano at LF edit: looks like tv is correct as Kebano is definitely on the left
yep. Gave up the first goal then minutes later went all out on a corner and got burned for the second on the counter.
Will be interesting to see who Parker puts up top (and how many) with Mitro suspended for three matches and Kamara out with COVID. safe money is on BDR but seems like a lot of the fan base is wanting 17 year old Jay Stansfield
Forest beat Derby so we need a win to keep pace. Meanwhile Birmingham is only 4 points clear of relegation going into today. Edit: spoke to soon as Derby scored in the 89th minute to get the draw thankfully
Really missing Mitro today. Should have had one and possibly two goals from great passes but DCR wasn’t in position
Oh my god Onomah my phone buzzed in my pocket and I knew my stream was a bit behind so I was just praying it was a goal and not match end lol
Hard to get excited for games at this point. Seems like no chance of auto promotion, and very little chance of not making playoffs, so just kinda blah.
Certainly if we get promoted, but even if we don’t, it’s time for Ream to start his career wrap up in MLS next season
Its too bad we don’t have other options to replace him. For as much as we paid for Mawson its so disappointing he cant beat out Ream.
Still have LaMarchand wasting space on the bench as well. Imagine how lost we’d be on the back line if the Hector loan hadn’t worked out so well. We badly need an investment in defense next season.
another match in which we dominate in the back third and midfield and then are completely braindead in attack
Pretty good start on a day where we are resting a few guys. 2nd place is out of our control; just really want to see us in good form heading into the playoffs
