Because today is the 20th anniversary of the illegal war he started. But remember everyone, W is just a cool guy you can picture yourself having a beer with, hundreds of thousands of people dying for no reason notwithstanding
Worst US president (by some measure, I might add). Fuck everyone in that administration, fuck that stupid war, and fuck everyone who voted for him. Hope your dreams are forever haunted by the dead Iraqi children you helped murder.
It's not even a contest. Bush absolutely was worse. Trump was a crook and a buffoon, but didn't murder hundreds of thousands of people and blow trillions of dollars. ETA: I do realize you may not be actually advocating for Trump as the worst, and just wanted to post a perfect gif response.
Every Republican President in my lifetime has been just a steaming pile of dogshit but W is a special sort of villain
“The Lancet Commission on Public Policy and Health in the Trump Era has just come out with an assessment of Donald Trump’s impact on the health of Americanswhile he was U.S. President. And, spoiler alert, it wasn’t positive. That’s assuming that you find many more deaths to be a negative health impact. According to the report, Trump’s policies or lack thereof contributed to the deaths of around 461,000 Americans in 2018. In 2019, about 22,000 deaths resulted from Trump’s dismantling of environmental protection measures alone, based on the Commission’s analyses. And of course, there was 2020, when the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic hit. Many have written about the Trump administration’s failure to mount a scientifically appropriate response to the pandemic. The Commission determined that 40% of Covid-19-related deaths in the U.S. could have been prevented had the U.S. only had the same Covid-19 death rates as those of other Group of Seven (G7) nations, namely Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom.” Source: https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucel...-others-deserve-blame-though/?sh=21ac872c2a31
Might be worth exploring how many would have died of covid under a normal president like Biden. If you cut those numbers in half (which would still be half a million) then Trump is in the conversation
One of the best things about that thread was people continually saying "He was led astray by his advisers" or whatever. So W is either a spineless pussy of the highest degree for letting them play him like a puppet, or he's a complete monster for agreeing with those abhorrent views. I think the answer is yes.
Same reason a lifetime conman from New York is the spirit animal of “working class whites” from all over the country. Many people are racist, stupid pieces of shit.
Y’all know how I feel about republicans. Good to see the board has seemingly overwhelmingly changed their stance on that monster though
It's funny how we just like expect every president to be responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths. Maybe we should stop doing that!
But hey, at least you can have a beer with this one…. Curious as to why anyone would want to have beer with a mass murderer but maybe that’s just me being too judgmental
Trump doesn’t happen without Bush. Both Bush’s were absolute disasters for this country. We simply haven’t had enough time yet to judge trump’s outcomes
I read a pretty good book about W maybe 7 or 8 years ago (Bush by John Edward Smith), and the answer is unequivocally yes. Although I would replace spineless pussy with ignorant dumbass. 9/11 completely changed his mindset though. He went from an almost entirely domestic focused agenda to believing he was on this divinely ordained mission to stamp out his "axis of evil." I think the only reason he never invaded Iran or North Korea is because Iraq turned into such a complete disaster.
CBS News says 35! https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/pictures/presidents-ranked-worst-best/ 35. George W. Bush (2001-2009) Bush got his lowest marks due to his most controversial decision: the 2003 invasion of Iraq, based on the mistaken belief that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. By the time he left office, the U.S. was at the height of an economic crisis.
Lol at this lede: “Is President Joe Biden the best president in history — or the worst? Turns out, it's neither. According to the latest available survey of presidential historians, he's somewhere in between.” You don’t say?
I was going to guess Andrew Johnson being somewhere near the bottom because of how he handled reconstruction.
Or if Regan had actually addressed AIDs existing at all. Lot of people died there, as well. Nevermind the war on drugs and trickle down economics and how many POC went to prison because of Regan, ruining the futures of god knows how many humans. He also caused longer lasting problems than W because of the melding of fiscal and social republicans for the first time. The current GOP doesn't exist without Regan.
10. James Madison (1809-1817) Madison had strong moral authority, and is well-regarded by historians. He declared war against Great Britain in 1812. Americans considered the war a success, leading to a period of soaring nationalism. Lolwut?
How can you say this when there wouldnt be a W without the corpse of Ronald Reagan currently rotting in hell
the war on drugs and trickle down economics are still fucking shit up in this country and will do so for the forseeable future
both of these things are the evolution of the deep racism and class exploitation this country was founded on so maybe the blame goes all the way back to a different George W for kicking the whole thing off
I’ve had ten Presidents in my lifetime. Not sure if I’d rank Bush or Reagan as the worse, but measuring Iraqi children and what Reagan did to blacks and gay people is really six of one, half dozen of the other.
