Playing Pitt is pretty cool as they haven't played in forver. Saw that SMU and Arky State scheduled a series for 2017 and 2019. While checking the article I noticed that The U plays at Arkansas State in 2019, that is almost as bad as MSU going to UMass. What kind of a retard is scheduling these games for Miami?
I thought maybe it was a 2-for-1. It is not. As for PSU, playing Pitt is cool but we need some more high-profile national games. There's no getting around it, our OOC scheduling right now is dog shit.
I am aware, but Miami in their current state doesn't seem like they will buy out a game. They would have to spend whatever to buyout Arky State and would then either pay somebody else, likely a similar caliber to Arky State, to come and play at a 25k person attendance or schedule a home and home with a better opponent.
O'Brien went scorched earth on our OOC scheduling after the sanctions and wanted four cupcakes every year, at least until we were fully recovered. We have VT and WV in the early to mid '20s which I'm fine with but that that's too far off. We really need to get this UGA series done though.
Here's a rumor for ya..... Baylor vs Cal....opening 2016....in Australia Supposedly, Baylor's on board but Cal is a little iffy. Probably trying to get more $$$.
Marc Weiszer @marcweiszer 2m2 minutes ago Breaking: Georgia will play UCLA in 2025 and 2026. Open 2025 season in Pasadena at Rose Bowl on Aug. 30, 2025 and in Athens Sept. 5, 2026.
Looks like those games were played at the end of the season at the end of Nov or beginning of December. That's when they only played 11 games a season, so probably made travel a lot easier with a bye before and obviously no game after. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola_Classic_(college_football)
Yup. Easier for Baylor since they're able to play a regular season game the first weekend of December (when everyone else is playing CCG) and thus get an extra off week. Cal is another story. I wouldn't be surprised if this is played on Friday night US time, which is like, I dunno, the previous Tuesday or something in Australia. Gives both an extra day to get back.
BREAKING: Sources: #FSU #Alabama game in Atlanta to open 17 season set. Agreement in place. Story to come. http://t.co/5Yum0Ux3iv
Auburn - Oregon set for Jerryworld in 2019. Sked so far for the permanent neutral site games: Arlington 2015 - Alabama/Wisconsin 2016 - Alabama/USC 2017 - Florida/Michigan 2018 - LSU/Miami 2019 - Auburn/Oregon Atlanta 2015 - Louisville/Auburn 2016 - Georgia/North Carolina 2017 - Alabama/FSU and Tennessee/Georgia Tech Houston 2015 - Arizona State/Texas A&M 2016 - Oklahoma/Houston 2017 - LSU/BYU Orlando (starting in 2016) 2016 - FSU/Mississippi
Yeah, these announcements are always bittersweet. Because it's awesome that Oregon and Auburn are playing, but how much more awesome would it be if they played in their stadiums?
granted I have no idea how to get to Eugene but I don't think it would necessarily be an easy trip for our fans to make it up there. Or for the Oregon fans to make the trip to Auburn.
Easiest ways would either be to fly to Portland and then drive a few hours or fly somewhere that has a connection to Eugene. But all of those ways would likely mean a couple of connecting flights for the majority of the fanbase.
FSU and WVU are in discussions to play a neutral site game Notre Dame and Navy will play in Jacksonville in 2016
