eh, we have our own refineries in Arkansas too so shouldn't be a problem.
wife needed gas and the station ran out on her mid fill-up. got to $12 and it shut down
Just reset it the current trip causing it to be so low
Yeah can definitely tell it’s no Apex
Agreed, only the elite live here
We are getting dangerously close to Mr. Noodle territory with these pics / videos
Darwin'll get em sooner or later
No. No he won’t.
This shit is bound to happen over and over and over again when you have a bunch of paste eating morons that have been conditioned by Fox and the rest of the right wing ecosystem to be absolutely fucking terrified of anything and everything that isn't a white Christian
all this oil comes from MOOSLEM countries just something to think about imo

I walked to piedmont and the bars. Was a great time since I wasn’t stuck on a road somewhere.
thinking about how this would affect me if this shortage were an issue here, I can't imagine it would be too bad. I'm already working from home except for a day or two a month, which could be cut out easily. We have a Walgreens, Lowe's, Costco and many restaurants in walking distance (although there's not a lot you can buy at Costco and walk home with). As is I fill my Tundra up every 2.5 weeks or so. By cutting out some social stuff and better organizing other errands I bet I could go twice that long on a tank if things got bad, and if it were really bad I could probably go a month without driving, except for a veterinary emergency or something.
12.6 average MPG, you driving a literal tank or something?
wow who would have guessed that the shortage wasn’t due to the hack
Idiocracy's not so funny anymore.
2015 Honda CVR
I’m sorry, are they trying to get me not to do this?
So I guess we're done here?
Did they pay the Russian hackers?
No. Just hired a firm to retrieve everything from backup and reset it.
I can’t believe companies haven’t all gone to some form of secured backup at least daily to avoid getting hurt by ransomeware. I may be over simplifying this though.
Also it seems like much our vulnerability is due to laziness. Up until a few years ago it was known many utilities used default manufacturer passwords on their scada equipment.
Lol they just had to unplug it and plug it back in.
A gas shortage is expected this summer not because there won’t be enough fuel but because there aren’t enough highly trained and licensed tanker drivers to transport it.
Many tanker drivers retired last year after demand for oil and gas plummeted because fewer people were traveling during the height of the pandemic. And most driving schools where new drivers could have received their training were closed due to state-mandated shutdowns. The two factors combined is resulting in a shortage of roughly 25% of tanker truck drivers needed to transport fuel, says the National Tank Truck Carriers, the trade association representing the tanker truck industry.
“We’ve been dealing with a driver shortage for a while, but the pandemic took that issue and metastasized it,” the association’s executive vice president Ryan Streblow said in a statement.
With states now reopening and people already beginning to travel, demand for gas is increasing, and so is the price at the pump – because less fuel is getting there.
The number of new drivers needed to replace those who retired won’t be filling the gap any time soon because the requirements to do so are rigorous, expensive and time consuming.
In addition to obtaining and maintaining a Commercial Driver's License, tanker drivers are required to get a separate Tanker Certification and Hazardous Materials Certification, which require the passing of several written tests and operational competency tests. The certifications are also more expensive and take longer to get than the standard CDL.
Yeah just blow on it and hit the reset button multiple times. It’ll buff out
So the company I work for now got hit last year. Everyone was already working from home (I wasn’t working for them yet) and a bunch of people replied back to a phishing scam and basically the entire company got infected. They were off work for like 3 weeks before they got everything fixed. So now we get random emails that are “test” phishing emails that you have to report.
There’s not a single appointment available for a CDL in the state here until 2022.
The mall in my hometown is basically abandoned and I saw where Dillards and the mall are letting a truck driving school use the parking lot. I believe it’s free as well. There are a ton of trucking companies in that area so hopefully it encourages people who were considering it to go and take the course.
We get these tests at work and 15-20% of the people always click on the email
25% of the population of this country is lost beyond saving.
A distribution disruption is not a fucking supply problem.
I assume the bridge in Memphis is going to cause a clusterfuck. Memphis is a huge distribution hub
I thought we already had a welder on that
Was discussing this with my buddy whose good friend was a trucker until recently. He said a lot of experienced truckers are getting out of the business because the larger companies are buying everyone up laying off those that make the most money and hiring new drivers at low cost. The competition is decreasing significantly and "salary" if you want to call it that is decreasing everywhere.
that’s what causes all of this last year, but now the tables have turned completely in favor of the drivers. just no drivers left
