I stopped at Speed Racer at 100 when they said it pained them to leave off movies like Master and Commander. Totally unserious list.
Watching The Long Game on Netflix, and it's predictably bad, but not so bad that I won't finish. Granted, I started it a month ago and am just now starting the 2nd half. I'm a sucker for underdog sports movies as long as they aren't comedies and don't have any religion in them.... And this one fits that bill at least.
I would not have A.I. #1 but I really love that movie. I think it helped I came in with pretty low expectations because I remember it getting pretty mixed reviews when it came out and I saw it some years later.
It's definitely worth finishing if you've already watched the first half. It had a short run in theaters here at some point over the last year and I saw it then. I don't regret seeing it--especially since a buddy from college is from that town in (very) south Texas--but also didn't feel the need to recommend it to any friends then (or even now) except my couple friends that also have unlimited accounts ;)
I think it was a necessary remake. Shia LaBeouf just comes off more genuine and relatable than Jimmy Stewart which really elevates the concept to new heights when you can actually be invested in the main character.
That’s actually a better remake than what I’m currently watching this one has Christopher Reeves in it and uses the same name.
Fuck me. Didn’t think there was much bad casually scrolling through that list, so figured #1 was something I could at least defend. Holy fuck was I wrong hahahahaha
Is this for real? maybe so https://deadline.com/2024/08/a24-anthony-bourdain-biopic-dominic-sessa-1236038429/ thats actually awesome
apparently it’s gonna be based off kitchen confidential. He’s also been gone for 6 years, by the time the film is released it’s gonna be near a decade, I mean, that’s not really “too soon” imo
Borderlands 5.5 / 10 Idk why it got so much hate online, but I thought it was fun movie. I never played the game, but it always seemed like just an over the top special effects, blow stuff up, and shoot crazy cartoon weapons game and that’s what the movie was. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Big issue I’m seeing from the target audience is that it kinda angles it more twords kids when it’s more of an ultra violent, edgy property. I haven’t seen it and probably will never watch it but I’m huge fan of the games
Although not every review is glowing, there are a lot of favorable initial reviews here https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/m...ulus-first-reactions-premiere-1235972870/amp/
It's crazy that Alien and Aliens have almost no continuity in their style and direction and yet both rock so hard.
Pretty much agree with all/most of this. Saw Cuckoo last night and it was pretty weird and decent i guess. Definitely enjoyed Dan Stevens playing such an odd dude after also enjoying his characted in Abigail earlier this year
Seeing mixed reviews. My coworker who is way more into films than I am was really excited to see it and said he didn’t care for it at all.
Since it is produced by the guy who did barbarian, and I got that same advice and loved the movie, I understand that marketing technique.
I wouldn't say the trailer gave away anything. If you dug around online, there could be spoilers because the movie actually premiered out last year.
Saw Skincare on Monday as it was the blind showing it was decent. Story seemed a bit jumbled but Elizabeth Banks had a solid performance and I loved Lewis Pullman’s performance in it Banks and Logan Lerman were two of the producers on it
