Sing Sing was excellent. There's some really good movies in the theater currently between Sing Sing, Strange Darling, Alien Romulus, and DiDi. Only thing that I've seen in the last month that I didn't care for was Cuckoo.
i wish i had not seen the trailer for strange darling. i know i wouldnt have seen the movie without the movie's promotion, but the movie description and trailer just give away too much. like others have said, go in as clueless as possible. pretty good flick and cool that it got such a wide release
An old friend of mine, who I haven't talked to in forever, is in this movie. Chris Mullinax is the older gentleman in this trailer.
September is pretty bleak. Wolfs barely in theaters. No idea if bettlejuice will be good. rest of the slate seems kinda awful
thats typical September as its a buffer month between the summer months and the fall/winter season My Old Ass with Aubrey Plaza looks interesting and then I’ll probably check out Transformers One but we also get MEGALOPOLIS
I’ll be locked in for the substance Edit: also the wild robot at the end of the month. That seems to be getting a decent amount of hype
Theres also a Netflix movie that looks like it will hit some theaters called His Three Daughters starring Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne, and Carrie Coon I mean sure why not
Haven't gone to the theater in a little over a month cause I've been sick. NYC screenings over the next week are pretty crazy for old releases. Trying to figure out what I should catch. I've seen the * before. Paris, Texas (4K) Vertigo (70mm)* Boogie Nights (70mm)* Phantom Thread (70mm)* Opening Night (70mm) Duel (35mm) Close Encounters (4k)* Jaws (35mm)* Raiders of the Lost Ark (4k)* Army of Shadows (4k) Eyes Without a Face Persona Uncle Boonmee
Crow 6 / 10 Very stylized, artsy fartsy, like a Hype Williams music video meets NYC fashion school. Lots of action/gore, was a fun movie. Good soundtrack. Again expected it to suck based on reviews/RT score, but thought it was solid.
This is the movie from that Weekend Update joke swap....where Michael Che made Colin Jost say "Creed frontman Scott Stapp will play Frank Sinatra in an upcoming biopic, but not to worry....Sammy Davis Jr will be played by Scarlett Johansson."
So they came out with a director's cut of Napoleon that's almost an hour longer. Runtime: 2h 38mn Runtime: 3h 24mn
Folks, we found it, the worst movie I've seen in theaters this year. My GF was feeling under the weather tonight so I called an audible on short notice and found a showing of this new Jason Blum production show starting soon at the Regal down the street from my office...and boy was it bad, woof... It's usually not a great sign when there are no reviews whatsoever yet on Rotten Tomatoes by the time a movie releases, but still gave it a shot due to Regal Unlimited and boy was that bad. I had to walk into a second viewing of Romulus--and this time in 4DX which was pretty cool--to cleanse my mind of that awful, terrible movie. So bad and dumb, please do not go see it, thank you!
Why would you do this to yourself the first time I saw the trailer I was like oh its a worse version of M3gan
I feel like Blumhouse just takes someone else’s ideas and decide to just make it worse I did enjoy friday night at freddys tho
I mean, there's nothing else to see in theaters this weekend--that Reagan movie looks really bad, too--and missed out on claiming company's Astros tickets because i thought I'd be hanging out with GF and her son...but still a good question as to why i would do this to myself!! ;) Thankfully, the local Regals will have both Twister and Twisters back in 4DX this weekend, so think we may try to see one or both of them this weekend
Just wanted to give a heads up to check local Regals/AMCs this weekend--both of the Regals near me have showings of both Twister and Twisters in 4DX through early next week friends
