Allegedly with a $100 million advertising budget as well. Theaters take like 50% of the cut on ticket sales, so Red One is going to have to do $700 million just to break even. Whoever thought giving that kind of total budget to a fucking Christmas movie should be fired.
was talking to my mom the other day and out of nowhere she said she really wanted to go see red one because shes “a big jk simmons fan” i dont think shes seen a movie in theaters in at least a decade im still floored by the whole conversation
My friend has worked with JK Simmons a few times and has said he is one of the nicer ppl he has worked with so your mom has good taste
Anora was very good and funnier than expected. Although, it has a few flaws. Not that this matters, but I can’t really see the academy giving a movie like that any awards.
I'd be shocked if she's not nominated for Best Actress. Not sure if she'll win, but should be nominated.
Whoever keeps greenlighting these live-action remakes of already good animated movies needs to be fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.
Watched Wild Robot last night. Wife cried for a lot of that movie bc adoption. I lent moral support and succumbed to dust particles at one part as well. Fantastic movie. Not quite enough humor to make it up there on the list with the OG Pixar greats, but definitely the best animated movie I've seen in a lot of years. Tickets to Gladiator 2 tomorrow we'll see if it deserves the hate
I finally take a leisure day off work w/o wife and kids...and its one day after my theater stops exhibiting Anora.
Just walked out of Anora, and holy shit. God that was a great fucking movie. Definitely more laugh out loud moments than I expected. We riot in the the streets if Mikey Madison doesn’t get a nom at the very very least. But I’ll be shocked if there’s a better lead actress performance than that one.
Zoe Saladaña going to category fraud her way to best supporting actress, but she is really the lead of Emilia Perez.
Perhaps it’s the power of low expectations but I really liked Gladiator II. Kinda weird that it happened at all and some stuff doesn’t work but imo a solid 8/10.
Just got out of it a little while ago and we enjoyed it, but part of me wondered throughout whether we needed a sequel. Would still recommend to friends i guess, but yeah, no need to even analyze it, let alone over-analyze it
called my wife’s bluff and said only if we go to the 8:15am showing. She agreed so seeing it Sunday. I saw it on Broadway, liked it as much as I would like something like that.
I’d be interested how many of the people going realize that going in. It hasn’t really been a part of their marketing
And there's definitely going to be altercations in the theaters, they're having to put these signs up because of what was going on at early screenings.
bless you guys going with your partners to see Wicked. sounds like HELL. i say this as a theatre minor
I thought it looked like a good movie to take some gummies and watch. It’s supposed to be terrible or what?
At AMC today there was a special Wicked-themed theater etiquette PSA that specifically said 'no singing'
