Been on a PSH kick recently due to this thread. Watched Capote, The Master, and Doubt. The man cooked in damn near every role he played. Incredible range

 

PSH was the only redeeming quality of The Master

 

hmm I thought it was a pretty good film

Only Joaquin phoenix performance I’ve liked in a long time

 

Brutally bad take

 

Good excuse to watch some Boogie Nights

 

Great acting, total snoozer of a plot and character development.

 

The Master is for people who like to smell their own farts

 

The Master is about the power of handjobs

 

PSH was great in it, but that scene where they made Phoenix touch the window a million times over and over again was really relatable with watching it.

Jaws will be re-released in theaters for its 50th anniversary. August 29 thru September 4. let's gooo

 

Speaking of handjobs, I finally got around to watching The Brutalist and thought it was very good.

I can't find the trailer anywhere online unfortunately because it's a great trailer, but the Allison Brie/Dave Franco movie Together has me very interested.

 

I think that was an exclusive before the monkey opening weekend so it’s not online yet. But it played Sundance and was well received so that’s a good sign. I liked the rental a decent amount, I think they have a future in making genre films

 

At least I got to see something good by seeing The Monkey

WB seems to be burying that new Looney Tunes movie, so it won't make any money. No idea why they aren't marketing it. It has great reviews so far.

 

thought the trailer for Drop looked pretty meh. not into movies where the "big bad" is someone texting your phone.

all in on seeing Black Bag on Thursday. hard to beat Blanchett and Fassbender.

 

Compliance was good but those were calls. But nobody calls anymore, it’s all texts.

 

Probably scared they can’t touch Beavers as far as Looney Toons-ness goes.

way too clunky and just never really grabbed me

 

Ending is great imo

 

Black Bag is fantastic. The pacing is pretty much perfect.
