Phoenician Scheme 7/10

also got my tickets for Life of Chuck and Materialists next weekend

 

As someone that has loved every Wes Anderson movie this might come as somewhat of a surprise but I really enjoyed the Phoenician Scheme

 

oh I meant that as a bad thing

 

it's weird that I genuinely thought he was in other wes anderson movies because he just fits so well

 

F1 early reactions seem to be very very positive

also ana de armas is a very attractive lady

 

The Phoenician Scheme was pretty good, Cera was incredible

 

Just watched Copshop. Perfectly fine if not forgettable…worth watching just for Toby Huss (who I’ve always loved) stealing every single scene he is in.

That’s a fun movie I like to put on in the background when I’m doing something else. Huss plays psycho very well

 

Trap was fine. I liked the idea of the cat-mouse game in the arena and Hartnett is great.

And yet I think I might have enjoyed to restaurant / kitchen fight, the ice skate scene, and the grenade-fu more. Fun time at the movies.

 

Salt Path was almost a good movie but just too boomer bootstraps coded.

Went to a screening of Sunset Boulevard and some idiot laughed almost the entire time. Stay at home if you are illiterate.

 

I feel like that’s a relatively common occurrence for revival cinemas unfortunately. I know the Music Box in chicago had to send out an apology last fall due to improper audience behavior during a screening of Blue Velvet

 

I won’t watch it bc of The Idol, but it saddens me because I love all three of Troy Edward Shult’s movies. No clue why he did this one
