Quiz show is amazing movie. Only real weak point is the guy who plays the investigator… not his best movie really wish Paul Scofield would have appeared in more films. He steals every scene he’s in, just as he did in A Man for All Seasons
Like how a lot of soon to be big people had little roles in it. Ethan Hawke, Mario Cantone....and Martin Scorsese plays Martin Rittenhome, CEO of Pharmaceuticals INC.?!?!? Scofield is great and Turturro is awesome as well.
Stagecoach has John Carradine in it. Check out his family tree lol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carradine_family https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Carradine
Sinners. Love when anything not only meets high expectations but surpasses them. So sorry I missed this in theatres.
Sinners was very good but I gotta say the decision to play Shipping Up to Boston every time they interacted with the vampires was a choice
I’m an ADHD substance abusing prick and movies are damn near impossible in recent years without 4-5 breaks but holy shit Sinners was another level. Only break was for dinner being delivered. Thought Judas and the black messiah was great but had to break it up into 3 parts. The lead vampire is a main character in a show called SAS Rogue Heroes and is incredible in it, thank me later after you watch it.
He’s also the lead in ‘71 which is a good (if kinda silly) action/thriller set in Belfast during the troubles. So many Leo pointing moments in that cast.
Sinners is the best movie I've watched in a long time. Going to go back and watch from Dust til' dawn to see if it's as similar as I remember. Either way Sinners is fucking fantastic.
Sinners built a world I'd be super interested in seeing more of. Anything with the twins. Also, the vampire hunters.
I’ve seen From Dusk Till Dawn more times than I care to admit and outside of vampires trying to kill everyone in a bar I never picked up any derivative vibes. Much better character development throughout Sinners. The only thing I thought felt familiar was Sammie being kind of like Tommy/Robert Johnson in O Brother but they went a different direction bc he didn’t actually sell his soul.
I can see the comparison with if you went in not knowing anything about the movies whatsoever both of them take hard turns into vampire horror after being what you would think is a crime movie.
immediately turning sinners into ip would just miss the point entirely about why its success is so exciting
