I'll trade you Dean for a QB to be named later
You can have Braxton Barker
I mean yeah whatever you got
Good game Dawgs. Oh and JT Daniels looks like he picks out 3/4th smoked cigarettes out of ashtrays at parties.
they probably are talented I just don’t know that we can really compare given who they have went up against this year compared to what UGA played last night
I mean Bama has atleast 2 1st rounders at WR and I don’t know if Clemson has faced a single WR that’ll get drafted in the top 5 rounds yet
I’m still so gosh dang mad at Nakobe Dean for going to Georgia. Then he just bodies Mac last night and it made me want to fight kids
last night wasnt great for brob but meh, it happens. he had 154 yards on 21 carries first three games.
I was pretty surprised at how Tyrique Stevenson looked. Slow and a little on the thicc side
Kind of tweener guy at his size. I didn't really understand having him cover your WRs because I don't think that's a favorable matchup for us at all
Do you think when the Line, RB’s and WR’s are gone he will put up these numbers?
Are they all going down with season ending injuries that we don't know about?
Jones just doesn't pass the eye test
Jones has duval water in his body
at some point it will cause a malfunction in the nervous system
although that may have already occurred vs Auburn
I thought Jones was average in HS (and some of his coaches did too). I've been shocked at how good he has looked.
isn’t Mac a jr?
He is, but if he continues playing like this I think he enters the Draft.
Yes. I never said he was more talented. I said he's been better this year. The numbers speak foe themselves. If you want to say its scheme or talent around him, not that Lawrence doesn't have loads around him too, then fine. But Jones has been better.
But if he plays the rest of the schedule like he's played the first 4 games, he's a top 10 pick next year.
As someone who hasn’t watched a single minute of bama sober how is your offense different than it was with tua?
To put it plainly, it's more efficient.
Mac takes what's available, runs through his reads more quickly, and doesn't look for the homerun unless it's there. We line up more quickly, have far fewer procedural penalties, and have almost no protection breakdowns or free-running rushers because they weren't identified pre-snap. It's very obvious in watching that Mac is much smarter and studies more film than Tua did.
More balanced with Najee and BRob rushing rather than RPO stuff for Tua. Tua had the tendency to hang onto the ball looking for big plays where Mac is happy to checkdown or throw it away. OL has remained mostly Intact from last year and the inside of the OL isn't as susceptible as it had been (plus our center is the biggest goon on the team)
Kevin Sumlin. Noel Mazzone, and best coach in the SEC East Mark Stoops offered him before Saban did
granted Saban already had Tua in the class so Mac was just a cherry on top
i will give it to you guys, he is good.
You can be a great poster sometimes, that’s so funny and nobody got it.
Talent around him
Wasn’t Tua lauded for being some type of football film junkie/savant for years?
Then let me rephrase it to say that Mac clearly gleans more insight from his film sessions. Truth be told, Tua's bulb runs at about 10 watts.
Again, statistically he's been better. Make of that what you want but he has been.
Tua was praised for his raw arm talent and ability to buy time under pressure and improvise. His football IQ/refusal to take what the defense gave him was always the main complaint we had with him, and was a major reason he was so often injured. None of us will say Mac is more talented physically than Tua, but he very obviously is a more well prepared player with a higher football IQ than his predecessor.
I'm not sure he would have had the best performance last night if he took some of the hits Mac did early in the game. UGA did a good job making him uncomfortable and had a couple hits that I thought may knock him out of the game at initial reaction, then he got up, shook it off and turned around and played much better coming out of the half after the fact.
Our WR's are insane, but Lawrence hasn't exactly been working with a bunch of scrubs, in addition to also having a very good OL and the best RB in the nation most likely in Etienne beside him. Not to mention they're creating seperation against the likes of the Citadel, Wake Forest, Miami, UVA and GT.
here we go paawwll, they haven’t played nobody
10/10 times, I’d choose Trevor Lawrence, but Mac Jones is very accurate and the top QB in the SEC. He looks like he is playing his way into the first round, right now.
Mac Jones will be a solid Ryan Fitzpatrick in the NFL
I started a stupid argument, Lawrence is incredible and a top prospect. Doesn’t take anything away from Mac Jones. He is playing at a high level.
While IHHH admits to moving the goalposts, his original post insinuated the deciding factor in our potential game with Clemson is their QB advantage. Bama fans point was that that was dumb.
Most objective people would take Lawrence, but Mac has been extraordinary for us this year and would not be the cause for us to lose to Clemson
That would be WSP
As a completely unbiased third party observer, How do we know Georgia’s defense is actually good? They played one good team and got blown out
How do we know any team is good?
I think anybody reasonable would, especially if you're talking next level. It was more of a "as of now, there isn't a giant ravine" between the two in the collegiate landscape.
This time last year Tua was a lock to go #1 and Burrow was the surprise in the SEC playing well (not at all saying the situation will play out similarly as NFL orgs have been salivating since TL's freshman year for him to be draft eligible).
I watched the game last night, and I fairly thoroughly hate both teams and hope for them both to lose. Having said that, why are Georgia fans blaming the refs for that game. I remember them getting a free takeaway at the beginning of the game, when that safety trapped a ball and they still gave it to him. What egregious calls did the refs make the other way, against Georgia?
The PI call in the 2nd half was bad.
SEC refs gonna SEC ref.
what is this based on?
Just the general impression I’ve gotten from his interviews/ docs and some of the stuff that happened when he played.
We didn’t lose BC of the refs
He seemed well above average intelligence to me. He made up for his weak arm by being smarter and reading defenses better. He would put balls up so early because he knew his receiver won off the los. That's not as easy as he made it look.
Nobody is blaming the refs. Most UGA fans pin the loss on the limitations of Willow Ufgood IV and ultimately Kirby Smart for not having a better option ready.
Weak arm? What?
Yeah, it seemed like the midget qb is the biggest reason to me. I was just responding to the video montage that someone posted of Georgia fans freaking out and blaming the refs. It seemed like the usual shitty calls by SEC refs, but evenly distributed and nothing that changed the outcome.
Tua has a weak arm. You haven't ever watched him play? He's incredibly accurate and reads the defense as good as I've ever seen at the collegiate level, but he certainly doesn't have the arm strength of the majority of NFL qb's. He has to make up for it by being better in other ways. Don't pretend that I'm saying he's got a weakass arm like a jv qb or something. It's weak compared to elite qb's in the NFL. He literally crow hops on throws he has to throw hard. He's still a phenomenal talent.
