Saw a recent Binging with Babish where he cooked the noodles separate and stored them separately (or cooked as needed) to add to the soup. Kept them nice and perfect. Novel idea.
Chicken broth, bay leaf, rosemary, spicy ground Italian sausage, salt, pepper, cubed red potatoes, garlic, cayenne pepper, arugula and spinach, threw it all in the instapot for 20 minutes. Turned out well but missing something to be really good. Anyone got suggestions.
The three responses have it. 1. Shredded chicken thighs 2. Navy beans 3. Crushed tomatoes Spoiler Navy bean, navy beans... meatloaf sandwich. Spoiler Sloppy joe, slop, sloppy joe.
Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of this post and I currently have some taco soup brewing Life works in mysterious ways
Spoiler 1.5 ground beef 1 onion 2 packs taco seasoning 2 packs ranch dressing 2 cups water Undrained: 1 can pinto 1 can black 1 can kidney 2 cans diced tomatoes 1 can rotels drained: 1 can corn Brown the meat and onion and add everything to the pot/crock whatever. Cook that shit for a while and then eat it
Gotta have tortilla chips in the bowl and pour the soup over it then top with a shit ton of cheese imo.
I have the finest cheddar just sitting in the fridge. I also made my own taco seasoning but I didn't want to spice shame everyone
Yeah, well I'm sure cookies taste better when they've been in kate beckinsdale's yoga pants, but that doesn't make them not taste good elsewhere
Don't know that I've ever really done french onion soup much. GF's favorite soup. made some last night and it was pretty amazing. Went with the food and wine site's recipe. Big fan of extra mushy onions, homemade croutons and gobs of gruyere cheese. Had the leftovers for lunch today and threw in some pieces of sous vide sirloin from monday night. Big fan. Still think italian wedding is my top performer though
I made oyster stew last week b/c my neighbor brought over a half bushel of oysters they couldn't finish at a party. It was good, but holy hell at the butter/whole milk in the recipe I used.
I had some but deleted I guess planning on doing the serious eats turkey ramen on Friday. Gotta save up the necessaries for the broth after bird gets trimmed. Recipe sounds great
Build your own ramen bar last night. Simmered the turkey carcass in pot for 6 hours. Strained out bones and skin. Broth back into the pot. Added ginger, garlic, bok choy and white ends of green onion and boiled. Pan seared some shiitake, bean sprouts and brussel leaves in soy/balsamic. Mixed a bowl of half mirin and half shoyu to add to bowl broth. Was excellent
Preemptive post so that this doesn't get archived. Did some Brunswick stew tonight even though it was about 70 here. Pork + chicken. Used the Publix vegetable soup mix for veggies b/c lazy, but YOLO
think I'm gonna have to request a chicken gnocchi and/or sausage tortillini soup for dinner this week.
I hate winter with every single fat cell in my body, but I do admit that fall/winter cooking is p nice.
