Did we lose the old thread in crash? Can't find it on main board or TV board. Last night's episode (Season 5, Episode 6: Panic in the Park) was one of the best episodes I've seen in awhile. I was so excited to see Charlie back, but then so scared for him/his character by the end of the episode. Probably the most relatable episode of the show I can recall. I haven't loved how fragmented this season has been, in terms of focusing on a different character or two for the entirety of each episode, as opposed to seeing them all as a group more. At the same time, though, I guess that is how life is when you're growing up. Overall, really excited to see how the rest of this season unravels and I hope we get to see Jessa's tits more.
Yeah, this season has only been so-so. Although, I will say that Jessa and Adam make so much sense together. I really just turn off whenever they show Shosh's story-line anymore. There's just been a lot of shit that doesn't make any sense so far this season. Like Shosh's boss just showing up in Japan for no fucking reason at all and spending the day with her, and the weird ass scene with Adam, Jessa and her sister, and the syringe thing yesterday was super after-school-specially. It just seems kinda lazy and lacking in direction right now to me.
I've really liked this season so far esp the Shosh stuff. Can't believe I liked an episode that was 100% Marnie as much as I did.
Took last season and part of the season before off, but after reading reviews of this season I'm back in. Caught up last night. The Shosh in Japan stuff was really enjoyable, as was all of last night's ep.
Same. Have found rigs on two people that were very close to me, shit sucks. I see so much of myself in Charlie so I really root for the guy. I literally jumped off my couch when I saw him in the preview for this last episode I was so excited.
I really don't know why I was so shocked by that because looking back through the episode... it is all so obvious in his behavior; however, maybe that was the point. He was such a good dude that you would have never imagined him doing that shit.
yeah he seemed pretty fired up when he was leaving the bathroom early in the episode, which led me to believe he was just doing a bunch of cocaine. Maybe he's speed balling :(
Last episode was probably the worst of the season. Wasn't even overly original, reminded me of the mimi-rose howard art exhibit episode
Ray is still by far the best character on this show. And I loved them having Huck on to be the random driver that Hannah hitchhikes.
Last nights episode sucked but the scene with shoshanna and her ex boyfriend in the restaurant had me laughing pretty hard love her
Do yourself a favor and never listen to the inside the episodes that hbogo has at the end of the episode. Lena Dunham talking about Lena denham is the worst.
just because you didn't start the thread doesn't mean YOU are going to have good opinions on the show.
Great episode last night, these should be some fun storylines to close out the story with. Hope Ray and Shosh get back together.
Just began to binge watch after years of swearing I wouldn't (big time Lena Dunham hater) Currently a few eps into S5. -Quite often I believe Dunham to be portraying herself but in a self aware mocking way. Then Lena Dunham does something in real life that kills that theory as she cannot be self aware yet exceeding terrible as a human -How does Hannah manage to get involved with guys who so far beyond her attractiveness. Yea, Patrick Wilson plays a rich, recently single doctor and goes on a fling with her. -Allison Williams is gorgeous. -Adam Driver is far and away the most talented person on the show ---The uptight snob girl he was hooked up with via the mom from AA was ridiculously hot. -I thought Desi was the blonde guy from The Lonely Island and expected Andy Samberg to appear at one point. -If the actress who plays Jemma actually has those tattoos, she 100% does heroin.
really enjoyed Elijah's presence in this final season. similarly to last season, i wish Shoshanna had a bigger role in the story (or at least more screen time) I'm going to miss this show but at the same time its easy to admit that it has run its course
Shoshanna is the first tv character that I've ever ended up with a real life crush on, and its almost entirely because of her personality. I feel like we could be soulmates
I'm going to miss the hell out of this show. They could do it for another two seasons if they wanted.
Great Elijah episode Lena Dunham annoys the hell out of me but she's a great writer. This season has been terrific so far.
Reasons why episode was meh: 1. Lena Dunham nude shots 2. Jessa storyline 3. Not enough Elijah or Shosh
I am going to have to rewatch the last 5 minutes. That was a lot of plot to shove into one episode. Needed more Shosh
it was kind of like the ending for Adam it was funny listening to Judd Apatow talking about how during shooting this he saw tons of little kids go up to him with lightsabers
Ok after reading some reviews I get it now. Probably should have been paying better attention or less inebriated. Glad Adam and Jessa will be staying together they're both shitty and deserve each other's shittiness
Lena has enough content to continue the series 1-2 more season if they wanted, but playing it safe with HBO series is the way to go. You never know when HBO will give you the ax. This is season has been incredible, like every other season. Moving moment when Adam and Hannah are in the diner and they both start crying, realizing it's not going to work, and they've quite honestly lost interest in one another. I'm surprised, I thought Adam and Hannah would reunite (for good) at the end of the season, but interesting turn of events.
I thought it was awesome how they paralleled Jessa in the bar from season one, and the final season. Great song to play as well. She realizes for the first time in her life that she wants a monogamous relationship, and she's grown out of being the girl who doesn't 'give a shit.' That's the theme for the final season: Becoming an adult.
No, but I keep thinking she's finally getting her shit together, and then she doesn't. I'm taking a wait and see approach at this point.
