We have 24, I think we are all staying in the grove cottages.
I head there a week from tomorrow with the NLU crew
I'll need a good report, especially where to hang out at night.
Is it a nest event?
Will change your life.
Are you doing anything else at the resort other than The Cradle?
Not sure what all is there, I’ve never been. We’re staying at the Carolina Hotel and have a couple of dinners booked (Carolina Dining Room and 1895 Grill). Any recommendations or suggestions are appreciated
This is my second trip, but the first was summer 2020 so the resort was very different then. This is a group of 64 total, they did a drawing for Nest members and I made the cut. The group has 3 days planned and I added an extra day with a round at Pacific and Preserve. Absolutely pumped, even though I’m playing some of the worst golf I’ve shown in recent years
How’s the renovation?
Cam Smith +4 thru 5 with 2 double bogeys today…
Scottie might have broken Cam
I know it's barely Thursday afternoon, but I'm #1 out of 2500 in daily fantasy and my dumbass accidentally picked a pool that doubles your money for everyone who finishes in top 45%. So payout for 1st is the same as 1000th place.
Yeah well I’m in 11,460th and winning $1.50
Terrible. May be back in August though. There are doing one at IH too I think right?
Anybody played Sanctuary in Colorado? Tentatively lined up to go play it in September next year. Supposed to be a great time.
That’s where I got married last summer so I still have access for a foursome to play through this summer. Even with paying for a wedding, it’s still $400 per person, so haven’t gotten much interest from others. Got some fantastic wedding pics though
Cam broke Cam. That swing on 12 was pretty bad.
Hoffman shot even today. Hopefully he can hold on and make the weekend
Brendan Porath brought up an interesting thing. Obviously Kevin NA doesn’t move the needle. But Kevin Na winning big purses over and over again might get young up and comers gringing away on the Latam or Korn Ferry to reassess their situation and start to create a little momentum for these idiots.
Had a morikawa over Webb bet today. He was up 5 shots with 5 to play and lost.
That's not really a novel concept by Porath or anything considering that's essentially what Norman himself says in that article. That's basically their plan and imo their only hope of ever getting any traction.
True but I was thinking more in terms of peeling off top 100 guys. The idea of young ballers migrating over seems more plausible (yet also something these kind of people don’t have the patience to wait to materialize).
have you played Eugene CC? Thinking about stopping on the drive down
I mean he duck hooked a drive en route to winning the Players, he just seems prone to lapses in his swing
This is a bit captain obvious, but it’s all going to depend if the PGA or other governing bodies has any teeth. I don’t see young up and coming players forgoing a chance at a US Open for a paycheck. Even then may be hard to peel them away. Maybe I’m not being realistic though. I think their best bet is getting someone like Homa, not him specifically, but a 30 year old top 50 player who probably isn’t going to win big
No. Played all the courses at Bandon. Everyone one was amazing. Going against the grain here but Pacific was my least favorite. Played it twice. Just didn’t do it for me. My rank on courses there. Sheep, Bandon, Trails, Ole Mac and last is Pacific. The short course is amazing in it’s own right.
Duggans downstairs. It’s a dive but if you’re in a large group and like darts it’s great. Great place to get drunk. The village is a cool place to walk around. Day or night. I thought the Cradle was pretty meh in the grand scheme of things. #4 is the best course there.
From every list I’ve ever seen, that’s not against the grain at all. Pacific is the highest rated but seems to consistently be last for the average player. My list is the same as yours, but I go back and forth between Trails and Mac. Sheep is just so much fun.
You’re absolutely correct. Trails and Mac were awesome but Bandon and Sheep are just special.
Anyone making the trip, I highly suggest the NLU vids on Bandon. Also the podcast episode is great.
So no pros are “joining the league” just playing events and they’re taking amateurs to fill out the field
I’d go if we could line it up in September and hit fossil as well.
I know PaulKemp just johny the 200’s. I held them in my hands today and we very enticing. But I told myself I’m allowed to get fit for new irons 2 years from now, and I didn’t need to make any more purchases…four hours later I went back to the store and left with a new “matching” fairway wood.
That's two strokes shaved off your handicap...easy.
Did the course last summer. Clubhouse started late fall although it shockingly is lasting longer than it should be. Now the state cut every tree to the right of one to widen the road which is fun
I went from a 915f to a tsi3. Little more tech.
I haven’t hit a Titleist fairway wood since the early 2000s until today. Met up with a fellow junkie (had a failed CL sale but realized we were both headcases and should hang out) on the range today and hit his new used TSI2 3 wood. Tensei 65g S. It was really good
Man you have to make that happen! We’re paying triple that to play in a fundraiser there.
When are you playing? Obviously weather is a concern, but their open golf months are very short, I want to say it was only May-September
You're paying $1,200 per person to play the 6th highest ranked course in Colorado?!?
Can they fill in the creek too?
Does it come with a happy ending and a pound of weed?
anyone use ironfinder.com to replace irons?
Both OU and Oklahoma St are insanely good
Some guy from Colorado just stole $10k from my bank account. Coincidence? I think not.
someone on Reddit said the Saudi league should put up the money to get Anthony Kim back
Yep it was super quick and easy. 8 iron head flew off at the range once and they never found it so I replaced it
$5k for for a foursome. It’s a fundraiser for a friends charity.
I went from quitting golf a couple months ago and getting rid of all my clubs to playing a comped round last week at Fallen Oak and finding some AP2's and a Scotty buying Kirkland wedges on eBay cause I really like mine. all I need is a driver and a 3 hybrid
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve said this. You can’t quit golf, only take breaks from it
