They've been playing the same hole for an hour and we don't have enough cameras to know if the ball is in the rough or fairway?
you guys don't realize this but the Harris English v. Kramer Hickok playoff at the 2021 Travelers is still happening as we speak
I just looked up memberships around me and...well, I'm not sure it's worth it. $85k initiation and $1k a month for the low-end ones around me. Meh
If you are under 40 the initiations are half that. I think somewhere like Flossmoor is much cheaper than that for the initiation.
Interesting. If the rumors of them overselling memberships is true, I'm still not sure it's worth it (I have no interest in "networking") but I'll have to look closer
Well Fellas I finally did it . . . Made my 1st Hole n One on Saturday!! I've been playing since I was 6 years old, 42 now, only took 36 years. Played with a good friend which we play damn near once a week. Played a great public course in Ann Arbor called Leslie Park. Lots of elevation change, great layout and lot of fun to play. Got to hole #17 which is a beautiful par 3 with a restored old barn nestled just behind the tee box. The hole is all over water, and pretty secluded from all the other holes. Not a long Par 3, today it was playing 126 with a middle pin slightly into the wind. Now I would normally grab my PW as that is my 130ish club, though I did not want to hit it heavy and come up short into the water. I decided to go with a 3/4 9 iron, making sure I got over the water. Currently right now in Michigan we are getting a lot of the smog residual from the Canadian forest fires. Because of this, all day we could see our shots come off the tee but many times we would not see it land because of the haze and sun. Never the less, I hit my 9 iron just left of the pin cutting ever so slightly towards the flag. About half way through the flight of the ball, I sensed I hit the ball a little long. The ball hit the green, bounced once and then I lost it. Again the haze was messing with our vision. My friend was chilling in the cart when I hit my shot, and I turned to him and asked "Did that roll to the back?" He said "I dont want to get your hopes up, but I think that might have went in." There was a thought that my ball was sitting directly behind my line of sight and the pin, or sitting in the rough in the back of the green. We drove up to the hole and there was no ball on the green and I could not see a ball in the rough. We turned on the camera and I ran up to the hole to check . . . And there it was, a Kirkland #4 in the cup!!! I had a bit of a sebdude reaction, I was excited, happy but didnt feel the need to go crazy and jump into the pond. It was more of a feeling of relief and "about damn time". I was on cloud 9 the rest of the day and still feeling a little of the Hole n One glow today. It was a bit of an unusual reaction as we didn’t go crazy on the tee box or even watch it go in. I received more phone calls and text from friends and family that night than when my first son was born, lol. It was a true bucket list item for me, I didnt want to be on my death bed wishing I had made one. Sub story of my golf round. I haven't been playing my best golf so far this year, just a bit more inconsistent. I was grinding through the round and was sitting 7 over after 15. To finish out was a short Par 5, Par 3 and a Par 4. All I had to do was go even on the last 3 holes and I shoot a 79 which I really wanted. I stand up on the 16th tee, ready to hit a big drive to hopefully have a chance to reach the green in two. I ended up duck hooking my tee shot left into the woods and proceeded to make a double on a Par 5. Well that killed any hope of breaking 80 for the day, so I was pretty salty walking up to the 17th tee box. Then Boom, Hole n One! As much as that was going to be the highlight of my round, I still really wanted to break 80. Stepped up on 18, hit a solid drive down the right side of the fairway. I then hit my approach fat and left my ball just short of the green. Chipped up and had an 8 footer for Par and burned the right edge . . . for an 80. It was a rollercoaster round, but one that I will remember for a lifetime. Side note, they do put your name on plaque in the club house (which they have 4 for each Par 3). The first recorded Hole n One on 17 was by Thomas Amrhein on 5/21/1983 which was 13 days after I was born. Leslie Park is now becoming a special place for me. Shot a 79 there 4 years ago after a 2 year drought of not being able to break 80. 2 years later I tied my lowest round ever with an even Par 72. And on Saturday I recorded my 1st Hole n One. Some great memories at that course.
Who do we like this week outside of Scottie? Feel like this course is built for a Jon Rahm type and not really Bryson.
Not that it's perfect, but DataGolf's course fit tool has Scottie, Bryson, and Rahm all in the top 7 best fits
Odds I like right now: Corey Connors (+6600, BetMGM) Joaquin Niemann (+3500, DraftKings) [if you guys don't read my posts often I don't think these guys win but their odds of winning are above the odds offered]
