I agree with this assessment after playing it.. I think the par 4 5th hole plays easier than the par 3 2nd straight up. Has some incredible views, but I probably prefer the lower course overall. Great to have the option to play both if you are a member.
I'm trying to plan a golf trip and a 5th guy wants to go. Huge pain in the ass. Playing 3 and 2 and getting paired up with randoms sounds terrible.
This is something that’s always intrigued me as someone new to the game. Dispersion of low handicappers. Like what benchmark can I compare myself to to know I’m getting better? How often do low handicappers hit shots off line? Obviously a lot goes into your score but this is more of an expectation management issue.
Played with shafts today and ended up dropping to a 115 from 120 gram. Pulled the trigger on the 925 forged with the modus 115 stiff with a 1 degree positive tilt. Should be here in about 3 weeks then we’ll hit each club for him to fine tune the degree/angle for each club. Getting someone that knows what they’re doing with fittings and willing to put in the time and effort for you makes a big difference. This is the first time I’ve really had that and I’m stoked to start playing with these.
you gotta go in multiples of 4 If you could get 6 you could possibly play as 3’s but that’s odd for the solo rider, especially if the course throws in a single
It’s funny you bring this up as this was my first time doing a fitting since I’ve really been focusing on my game. I had a baby cut all day with my swing during the fitting. I was lined up in the middle and would watch every shot go down the middle line then bend to the right. I finally said let me aim left and try to start dropping them on the line. I really could tell a difference between the clubs after that and how the dispersion pattern went. The 925 were head and shoulders above the others in how tight I was hitting them.
Golf trip Did you not hit the ZX7s? I see you hit the 5s but the 7s are more similar to the 925 forged
I swung those in the past with him. I was really hoping the Srixon would work with me but the data just wasn’t there.
I play the original zx7s and hit my buddy’s 925 forged recently and they were similar in performance for me. I’ve been almost exclusively Mizuno and now Srixon for 15-17 years. Next set (Christmas) will be one of the two
Sent a steak knife deep into my hand while trying to get an avocado pit out (yes, I'm an idiot). Happened Friday night and still have little to no feeling in my left middle finger and lots of pain with certain movements. Guess my golfing season for 2025 is over.
You'll have to go twice, once at the entry point and once on the other side where it didn't quite exit but has created a gnarly bruise
If he comes in here saying he lowered his handicap by 5+ strokes someone needs to take the knives out of all our homes
I think it is a great match play course. A lot of the criticism is people thinking it would just be exactly like the lower course.
Playing in a 4 man scramble tomorrow with an 8 inch cup. Temp is supposed to be 98 degrees. I might die. I'm not built for this weather.
Just something sort of related. I’ve always wanted to play a course that has the holes the size of footgolf just to see how I’d do. Also, curios to know the boards thoughts. If you’re playing in a tournament like the above with enlarged holes and you get a hole in one, do you consider it valid?
I count aces on par 3 courses, assuming you already have 1 ace. ( I have an ace on the cradle and on bandon preserve and I count them haha)
I think there have been reasonable takes itt on this topic but I hate hole-in-one hardos. I had a guy tell another guy in my group his HIO didn't count because he did it in a scramble and having partners freed him up to aim for the hole instead of just the middle of the green
Convo went like this: Guy 1: [brings up on a par 3 tee box that he has ___ holes-in-one without anyone asking] Guy 2: That's awesome! I finally got my first one last month in a charity scramble for my son's school! Guy 1: If it's a scramble, I wouldn't count it. You play differently in a scramble Me [sounding like the barbershop guy from Coming to America]: If the scorecard says 1, it sure sounds like a hole-in-one to me
I can be picky about what counts as I have 0 lol And wasn’t saying it wouldn’t count. Just a footnote
I'd also like note that as a real man, I don't have to caveat shit Spoiler I don't have a hole in one
That guys an idiot. HIO in a scramble counts. Last year we were on the tee box waiting to hit and just finished a par 3. We’re watching the group behind us and one dude sticks it to a few inches. Next dude dunks for a HIO. He was going crazy and his partners didn’t see it as they were getting drinks at the tent. We run onto the green to celebrate with him. Hole was playing around 150 I believe.
