This feature really sold me on it. It's a virtual 3d course where you can fly through every hole and place pins on certain shots to see what your approach will look like from everywhere. And then I searched it in this thread and you loved it so I figured I'd give it a go. Sand Valley and Erin Hills are probably my two favorite courses and this is designed by the Sand Valley guy and has some feels of Erin Hills
I will be very excited to perfectly plan my 95 yard layup only to pull it into the woods and have to punch out
I'm guessing you won't have time with the game but that's a cool area just to find any of the towns on lakes and grab lunch/dinner at a bar with a view
Would be tight, but I might give it a try. I might end up just heading straight back to the ballpark though to be safe
My buddy’s club pro simply called and asked if we could get on as unaccompanied guests, but I also think a friend’s uncle that’s a member called and vouched for us. They charged us a hefty fee though.
We did Erin Hills, Lawsonia and Lac La Belle on the same trip and a lot of guys preferred Lac La Belle. A little bit of that is Erin was a big walk and like $600 bucks, Lac La Belle was a beer drinking day in carts and the course was like $100 to play.
Erin almost felt like I didn't belong. It was too nice, I had a caddie, it felt like pressure to make the most of it. That said, it was amazing If Lac La Belle is 90% as nice for 20% of the cost that's absolutely a win in my book. Tee sheet is empty as hell tomorrow too
My life should somewhat settle down mid November. If I get my shit together and can find a weekend who would want to get together for a couple days of golf in Orlando
are you in south florida? I’ll be killing sometime down there at some point this winter if you want to play a round
I'll post more tomorrow but I loved it, my golf day got accidentally extended because I inadvertently purchased tickets to the x-golf suite at the Brewers game
I moreso meant to say that I did not find it trashy whatsoever. It was a nice course in pretty good shape. Maybe im just poor.
I've got a morning round booked tomorrow and my contacts didn't come in so I'm gonna have to George Bryan it.
I like the Winter Park 9, Orange County National, and Southern Dunes. I've just spent too much time bullshitting on resort courses it gives me a bad taste. [my brother lives there]
Shoutout to Nole0515 for having me out at Legacy last week. Got my ass kicked, but it was fun to play on a ‘real’ golf course like that. So many shots I thought were decent at first but ended up in horrible spots.
Gross JT is so weird Xander and Fleetwood are quiet Keegan is Keegan, and should go into hiding terrible foursome
I've played it a couple times with Connor Norman and I can't imagine calling the place trashy. I really enjoyed it.
The Club at Lac La Belle: loved it. It was rated one of the "most fun golf courses" to play, and a lot of it is because of the choose-your-own-adventure type of holes they had. Lots of decisions on how to approach each hole. Thankfully for me I had to call to book as a single but they didn't put anyone else with me so I got to go off alone. And that meant I played a scramble with myself and I played each hole both possible ways (ie I would lay up with one ball and fire away with another). Course was in great condition and we had good Wisconsin October weather. $175 all-in after cart. Here are some pics that may be of interest: This preposterous green complex facing you on the first par 3 Spoiler This really interesting decision on a diagonal fairway. The 200-250 yard shot needs to go over the tree and land before the bunker to have a chance to get on in two. So you can go left and lay up and have a long shot in, go over the tree and risk hitting it or going in the bunker, or trying to smoke a shot to the right of the tree, putting penalty into play Spoiler Another choose-your-adventure where the left fairway has a better angle to the green and is a shortcut, but the bunker/tree comes into play Spoiler After your round there's a 15-hole putting course that's included with your fee, with all sorts of weird holes (like one you have to roll past the hole and roll back down a hill into the cup. Spoiler My favorite hole of the day, thanks to playing two balls. I would never try to go for this in two normally, but I hit my layup shot and then got my driver and hit my longest-ever drive (308) and it landed right in the middle of this choke point. Got on in two and then birdied Spoiler Wisconsin Golf remains the best
I saw Keegan last week. He just looked so sad still later that day I saw Shane Lowry. He seemed much happier
Ended up being an afternoon 9 instead but I shot a stress free 43 with 18 putts. I should play in eyeglasses more.
Anyone got any good shit that I should buy with shop credit? Have around $1k to spend by the end of October. Was thinking a new bag for sure, but really dont need any new clubs except for maybe a driver and putter. Was going to do the putter through Club Champion though. Any dumb ideas for me to spend some credit on or ideas for a good bag people like?
Buy something with high resale value (probably a Cameron putter?) and flip it. Turn $1000 credits into $900 money
Yeah both courses are pretty nice. I enjoy playing there. I might try to golf on Sunday if you wanna go (not Chateau Elan)
You can also just have them special order you clothes. Get some pullovers, winter jacket, button downs, pants etc.
I almost burned mine on that happy Gilmore putter because I really didn’t need anything and it was about to expire. Ended up getting a few pairs of shoes and some balls instead and that was definitely the responsible thing to do. But having that putter in the bag would’ve been pretty funny.
I also wish my club would let me expire the shop credit... it is insane how many guys have fuck you amounts of shop credit that they don't spend.
You pay an entry fee to play in a tournament. Some tournaments you get tee gifts (shirt, hat, shoes or something big in a member/guest), some events include some level of food and beverage and most events the prize money is paid out in golf shop credit. For instance in our Member/Guest we pay out like 8k in shop credit. At most clubs they have to spend it by the end of the year, or maybe it expires in 1 year.
usually it’s for winning club sponsored tournaments. Instead of giving you cash they give you shop credit. Ours can at least be spent on food/beverage
I definitely put expiration dates on GC I sell to outings and shit like that and use them to pay for demo clubs my members break or don't return.
