oh I knew it was gonna be a cake walk. It poured here all day Monday and it’s rained the last 2 nights and there’s literally zero wind here today. I could shoot under par out there today. But I haven’t watched in years so no, not furious.
Im more referring to trying to look like a badass by putting a dead guy everyone all liked (Rosaforte) on blast in a look at me post.
This is what you get when Andy and Brendan have PJ around to do every dumbass idea that pops in their head
Clayton is -8 through 14. Cut line is looking like -3/-4. So barring a blow up, looks like he’ll get his card
Kinda funny watching Golf Channel talk Clanton up even we he screws up after absolutely trashing the kid last week that’s younger than he is
Im left handed and when I was cocky in high school, I'd tee it so I was standing outside the right marker and basically swinging just over the top of it. No way in hell I'd do that now
I could understand feeling like you need to hit that shot on 17 or 18 but trying to do it on 10/11 was beyond idiotic.
Today, he won the New Zealand Open to qualify for the Open Championship. “Just changed my life. This is what I do, I want to be here and just play golf. The story is what it is, but I’m just out here playing golf,” said Peake after his win at Millbrook Resort. A remarkable turnaround and a life-changing day for Ryan Peake.
Going to Fri/Sun for PGA championship at Quail Hollow. Anyone familiar with that area and suggest a course to play Saturday? Saw there is a TPC in Piper Glen but didn’t know if there’s a must play course in the area
Piper is fine but certainly not must play, but it’s also private. The public courses around the area aren’t great, in my opinion unfortunately. You’re better off trying to get out a ways if you have it in you to get out to some place like Tot Hill Farm or Tabacco Road and then all the Pinehurst area courses. But those may be packed that week and are definitely a drive. But doable as a day trip . https://tothillfarm.com/ can also ask here https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/official-charlotte-thread.85134/
public golf in charlotte is unfortunately a travesty. some of the best options within 30-40 minutes: https://redbridgegolfclub.com/ https://verdictridge.com/ https://www.rockbarn.com/
Kopped these at Golf Galaxy this weekend. Hadn't gotten new shoes in several years or really paid much attention, but it's wild how prevelant the sneakers are. They have New Balance 991s and Air Maxes with soft spikes in like 5-6 colorways. They even had Sambas
PGA championship had a good run at Kiawah, Southern Hills, and Oak Hill but is getting absolutely left in the dust with back to back years at Valhalla/Quail Hollow when the US Open is at Pinehurst/Oakmont. Quail Hollow getting two in an 8 year span on top of a Presidents Cup is a choice
Headed to Phoenix in April for 3 days for work but basically have all of the afternoons off and can play golf (wed-fri). Has anyone been recently/live there that could give me some insight on courses to check out that wont be a cash grab shithole or $400 to play a course like troon/TPC/etc.? Was looking at doing Ak-Shin, Mountain Shadows short course if Im pressed for time one day, and maybe raven?
Where are you staying? Southern Dunes is my favorite that’s usually closer to reasonable on the price scale(though April is not cheap). Lookout Mountain in North Phoenix is another fun track that is not your typical AZ desert course. Depends on how far you can go I guess
Southern Dunes will be on the very far end of that range, probably close to that hour mark depending on time of the day. Lookout is a good fit around 30 minutes, The Raven is nice and closest of that class. Talking Stick and Whirlwind are solid, maybe not spectacular, but near casinos and shopping centers if that’s your thing. We-Ko-Pa has two great tracks about 45 minutes away as well. None of these are going to be cheap but lighter than Troon North or GrayHawk or TPC this time of year
You have to be as skinny as Max for those Lulu polos to fit right and they don’t even look like they fit him
Perfect thanks for the input. I fly in Wednesday at like 9am and have literally nothing that day so was gonna do ak-shin that day because I have time for the drive. Will do the other two maybe the two other days depending where I can get on and for how much. Think im gonna hit a dbacks game one nights, suns game on another, maybe comedy show. Grab cocktail at century grand/undertow/little rituals etc. Taking all food/drink/things to do recs around the hotel.
