I’ve only heard of half of these guys but my takeaways from watching random clips on instagram and reviewing their instagram profiles that I know you’ve all been waiting for: The guy that won really likes to show off his teeth The barstool guy that came in last place shouldn’t have been invited. He seems like total loser The Bob does sports guys are actually funny. I follow Bob and the breezy account already. Saw them in the Atlanta airport a few months back.
Feel like the Strapped boys should have gotten in on the course with the $1100 tee time (Really just Neil)
How can you play as much golf with access to the best instructors and equipment in the world and suck as bad as the barstool guys, total losers
He's full blown MAGA and a friend of President T. Canadians have turned on him and "broken his heart" according to his wife.
Oh 1,000%. I just find it funny that he’s one of 50 players Balionis has introduced as “one of the most beloved players on Tour”. It’s on repeat every single episode
allegedly Tiger is dating Don Jr’s ex wife. No word on if she ever worked a Perkins when she was younger.
Team tree - if traditional setups can't test golfers let's get weird. Especially in spots that normal players won't hit from.
I’m conflicted. It’s a replacement for a tree that was originally there. So the original intent of the golf course was brought back, which is great. That said, the tree was put in the exact same place yet the tee box was moved back 40ish yards. So now the tree is *way* more in play than it was previously. They should’ve moved the tree back with the tee box so you kept the original intent totally in place. It feels a bit nuts in its current iteration. All that said, I don’t mind giving these players a little bit of adversity to deal with because it absolutely drives them insane. They get coddled way too much by the PGA Tour with most course set ups. So I’m more for it than I am against it.
it’s also hard to feel bad when players like Aberg can do that. Or I think it was Min Woo who hit 300+ driving iron stinger. So yeah make them work the ball but it’s also something completely within their wheelhouse. edit
for anyone curious, 31 of 42 winners at TPC Sawgrass were Top 10 after 36 holes and 37 of 42 were within 5 shots or less the only winners 6+ back after 36 were 2001 Tiger (6 back), 2010 Tim Clark (7), 2017 Si Woo Kim (6), 2021 Justin Thomas (7), 2024 Scheffler (6) Spoiler: you like data?
probably looking at a shot and half to two shot advantage for the guys who went late/early over the first 2 rounds morning wave Thursday averaged over 73.3 while the afternoon was 71.3 so far today the morning wave is averaging right around 71.4 early/late has produced the winner in 10 of the last 13 years with 2013, 2014, and 2024 being the exceptions
Weather was worse in the better wave too. I think it's just talent and variance this year. Spent a ton of time on this last night
Had a great round today in our skins game at the club. Shot 75 net 70. Just had one drive that got away from me OB. Been working on my driver a lot and it’s really coming around. Had some wind behind me but by far the best drive I’ve had on 18 at my club. Still 3 putt bc I hate that green.
