Yeah I can’t imagine it if it’s intentionally playing tough. I left too many putts and chips above the hole and you cannot stop it. I need to play it a few times before I have some confidence. I just left the ball in too many poor spots to score, especially off the tee. I could have hit hybrid on a few holes and taken away some of the trouble I got in.
Much as I want to believe he has it in him to get back to a competitive level, I just don't see it. I've mentioned before that I made a 100 dollar bet in 2009 with a friend who said Tiger would never win another major after Elin smashed his windshield with a 9 iron. At the time, I thought it was easy money but now I think he was right. Three or more surgeries, extended time away from the game, increased challengers, and a shift in life priorities toward his kids all point to a wrapped up career.
Also, this same friend appears to be a savant when it comes to professional golf but a complete spaz in real life.
Yea, sure the competition may be tougher but ask yourself this, are any of those guys Tiger Woods? Exactly, fuck you.
I would say tiger wins more majors before I would say anyone else wins as many as tiger had at the moment.
It's like people think Tiger's numbers are touchable. I mean the cut streak, world number one streak, number of wins, season he didn't miss a putt inside 5 feet, Tiger Slam, etc...I firmly believe none of it can or will ever be replicated
I think the slam is doable. A lot of the rest is out of reach at the moment, but I think that's because the quality of golf/golfers has drastically improved in the last 10 years. Before it was if Tiger wasn't in the field, you wouldn't really know who might win because they were mostly (excluding Phil) average PGA guys. Now the fields are so deep, no one really goes in as an overwhelming favorite because the top 15 or so are all really damn good.
lol at saying everyone was average besides Tiger and Phil. The fields are better now but let's not get carried away here
Lost it when he was rattling off names of his junior coaches and referred to one of them as a poor mans sandusky.
That part got me good. Loved when he said the only thing more important to him than his junior players was the single moms.
DJ will move into the top five on the all-time money leaderboard with his next win. Would bump Ernie from the 5th spot I did not expect to see that when checking this morning
Jordan is 24 and already made 35 million. Have to think he’s got a very good chance to pass Tiger’s 110M. He’s only 13M behind DJ.
I remember back thinking it was a crazy accomplishment when Tiger became the first player to make more than 2 million in a single season. The purses have gotten a bit insane and I'm not surprised the modern players are lapping the guys who played for less than half the money in many cases
Played 18 this morning and it was 45° and cloudy. Zero wind though so it was actually quite pleasant.
I had a lesson earlier at Osprey Point and was going to play the 9 hole executive course but got talked into playing 18. Was fun. Shot upper 80s.
Titleist has lost their fucking mind. $70ish per dozen. Rep sent me a couple of sleeves. Will report back after trying them out
Nevermind, you're right. They're being sold on the secondary market for $70/dozen. Should have done more research.
I got a box of Volnik Vivid XTs (in white) for free and I am really thinking about using them as my everyday ball. They are hot as fuck off the tee and I don't have the same problems getting them to stop as I've read from others. I also play most of my approaches higher as I generally can't hit the one bounce and stop shots consistently anyways. I also love the way they look and feel.
He used the Urethane ball anyways (obviously). Its a glorified ProV. I think the Zirconium covers on the other balls actually provide a different feel (and therefore an option) to mid handicappers.
Upgraded my old ping g10 driver and 3w to the G400’s on Friday. Now my miss slices farther right into the trees.
