Clearly begging it to get left
Cantlay winning Player of the Year feels like Ponte Vedra putting their thumb on the scale with the FedEx Cup.
Just finalized my plans for Saturday at Ryder cup. Had to sell my Sunday tickets needed to be back home for work on Monday but excited anyway.
Holy cow that’s a terrible decision
Rahm was clearly the best player all year
I mean, if he doesn’t get DQ’d at the memorial, is it even a conversation?
Makes a lot of sense actually.
Sure. But if you’re so concerned with yourself and your routine, don’t accept the invite.
Or MAYBE have fewer meetings and shit and allow golfers to be golfers.
I looked at it afterwards and it is even worse than I thought off the top of my head. He has two MC's in majors, a t23, and a t15. One of his "wins" is the Net Champ where as far as OWGR is concerned he finished behind Rahm and Na.
Yeah this is an American cultural thing. Instead of trying to change the player, adapt to them.
Beating those guys over the head to be more team oriented doesn't seem possible.
I agree more with this viewpoint. If you can't adjust then maybe it just isn't for you. No problem with that.
What makes it great is that it is so different. It only makes sense that it's going to be different from a players standpoint. The Euros play all the same individual events that the USA guys do and then come Ryder Cup time I'm sure it's different for them too. They seem to know going in that they need to mentally and physically adjust and they just do it.
telling a player to turn down the Ryder Cup because they don't prefer the routine is pretty naïve.
Can one of your fuckers change your avatar? I thought you were talking to yourself.
Brooks needs his sleep and tv time
Brooks is right, you know.
Yeah cause who would ever have to adjust their personal routine when they accept a different job?! What a crazy concept.
Their job is to be Gentlemen and play 72 hole stroke play events every week of the year
It's a very simple solution. If you believe Brooks needs to be a better team member for the team events to be successful, which I believe is a valid opinion, you just have him play his singles match. I don't see why Brooks would care, considering his comments.
Very interested to know the “gamesmanship” Brooks references from Phil at Kiawah.
Phil was painfully slow and Brooks was definitely irked by it. I think he took a pretty long bathroom break at one point too.
He's not a smart man
lol his body will completely break down by the time he is 37
Finally found my 7 year old a set of left handed girls clubs with a bag. Been looking for the past 6 months. Surprised her today. Can’t wait to take her to the range to start practicing.
Power and longevity rarely go hand in hand. Of today's crop, I think Rahm might be able to hang in for a long career because of that short back swing.
But it's so damn violent.
Has this narrative ever showed any proof? I agree in principle, but always hear it with never any follow up besides look at Tiger Woods. I’m sure his had a lot more to do with seal training and PEDs than his swing though.
Is this just from old guard swing coaches that can’t believe how powerful the swings have become over the last thirty years and want to make shit up?
Feel like Rahm has gained a bit of weigh lately. He's going to need to get in shape as he gets older. Also, as a fat guy golfer I respect the shit out of him.
I played a month ago in really high sustained winds. It’s so much fun. If you’ve played Harborside in the winds, Erin Hills is completely different because the fairways are so much bigger. Harborside felt unfair, Erin Hills felt like you were just trying to hit really cool shots.
Brooks is such a little bitch.
Phil is the posterboy for longevity and health, it would seem like a longer swing with more flexibility would be better than a short swing where you are generating loads of torque in a compact motion.
If you believe Hank Haney’s version of things, Seal training was 100% responsible for Tiger’s injuries. That portion of his audio book was difficult to listen to nearly 10 years post publication after seeing everything unfold
Wasn't he also doing pretty heavy deadlifts and other powerlifts? If you don't have strict form, good recovery etc you're just asking for injury
I don’t recall the specifics of his workouts, but I’m sure someone else can chime in. Sounds right though?
I just have images of him getting his knees and back getting bashed in with the butt end of rifles burned into my head
I'm 35 and I've been doing powerlifts for almost 20 years. One slip up in 2020 and my back hasn't been the same since. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor for tiger, especially if he was hitting 500+ balls at the range every day with a back injury
This is why I don't lift and choose to be fat.
Damn. Sorry to hear that man
Adding powerlifts to my list of things not to do in my quest to make to make the Champions Tour
Haha I just have to stretch every day now (should have anyway) and get a little creaky the day after lifting. I actually hit 200 range balls and then did heavy deadlifts when I got home like an asshole. I wouldn't be surprised if Tiger did something similar
The tide is turning on Brooks. He’s going to wind up the loser in the battle with Bryson.
Or both of them losers
This is the way
Brooks is an absolute killer in the majors. The fact that he does it only in the majors and doesn't give a fuck about mere regular season tournaments is hilariously awesome. You have to respect it. Haters gonna hate.
There’s a story on ESPN today about Bryson’s hands being wrecked from training for the long drive championship. I’d still take Brooks
Guy I took lessons from a few years ago told me “There are swingers and there are hitters. You’re a hitter.”
Advised me to pay attention John Rahm’s swing because he’s a hitter.
I think Brooks has been popular because he seems like a normal guy. Complaining about having to go to a bunch of meetings instead of them just leaving him alone and letting him do his job is pretty relatable.
Also.. I'm sure he's not the only one that feels that way.
