lol Viktor's so likable. Jack telling him he's the only person to make birdie on 17 today he jokes "yeah, played that one -2 this week, easy hole." with a chuckle.
One of the best putters on the planet has a (longish) putt to win his first tournament, or free golf.
4'11'' uphill after watching Lipsky hit the same putt. but you're right that it wasn't a guarantee. I made an assumption that the guy putting his ass off would get it down in 2.
I know, I was just joking about you giving Denny the win. I have both on too, but not moving Rose to the big screen until this is over.
you posted before his first putt, I posted after his first putt. was just a comment on how much he let it run, nbd
Don’t think I’ve heard of McCarthy but man I feel bad for him. Guy was that close to getting his first PGA win. Glad for Viktor though. He seems like a nice guy
I don’t wanna hear about PGA tour pace of play ever again after watching Zhang wait 10min on every shot this back 9.
gotcha, yeah I don't consider that luck. I consider that just that she hit it in the bunker. it didn't end up there because of a sprinkler head or anything.
Certainly it could've been a better shot, I see your point. But a ball that lands there doesn't always go in the bunker so I think luck is somewhat involved. Splitting hairs
Never seen a so-called generational talent who went to Stanford announce themselves like this. Impressive.
The best thing this tournament has is Jack being able to dictate setup. Jack can push boundaries that Ponte Vedra doesn't like to. Riviera is the best course with a yearly event. If the weather is anything like what is forecast for the foreseeable future, Olympia Fields this year could be crusty like a few years back.
I thought about Riv as the answer too but figured people would think I'm a homer. This just in... I am!
So we had our 3 day club tourney this weekend and me and my buddy won the 4th flight, advanced to a shootout against the other 14 flight winners and then were eliminated in the 2nd round. Great weekend with lots of booze, great food, and good and bad shots. My other buddy who is a scratch golfer and his partner breezed through their first 3 matches of the championship flight and made the finals against an 8 time winner of this event and his partner. Unfortunately, my buddy lost 2 up on 18 but even worse than that is it took 5 hours and 10 minutes to complete the match and it was all due to 1 of the players on the opposing team. He was ridiculously methodical over every shot and somewhat ruined what was otherwise a real good match.
I’m seriously thinking about getting rid of my driver and 3wood. Adding a Driving iron to the bag and calling it good.
Fucking golf. I was well on my way to playing the round of my life yesterday. Finished the front 9 of the course +1. Then the wheels just fell off on my way to a cool 88. Couldn't putt and found OB multiple times. Also put my ball on 2 of the 3 ponds on the course. So maddening.
