our club has a normal Member-Guest and a Junior Member Guest. Junior is for folks 40 and under. It's a little less expensive and only 1 official day. Friday-practice round on big course and an optional shootout on the par 3 course in the afternoon. couples party that evening. Saturday-3 9 hole matches plus a shootout.
feel like The Ledges should be able to swing a junior member guest. The Cliff Hanger is the best golf event i've ever played in.
There was like 60 people on the waiting list this year that didn’t get in via the lottery. Myself included. They need to figure something out because what they’re doing now is just pissing people off.
it's always a bunch of BS drama. Hell this year they decided to add another member guest because the olds were pissed off about all the young folks infiltrating their tournament. So now we have a spring and fall tournament with the junior scheduled in June. It's wild but everyone wants to play in them and reciprocate between all the different clubs in Birmingham.
Same stuff here. They added a one-day member guest in the fall. It was on a Thursday and I didn't even attempt to play.
Have unfortunately been there before, assuming he's doing it because his backswing is feeling fucked. Played more than a couple rounds back in the day using the Faldo pre-set drill. Want to say at least one tour player did the same years back as well, but I don't recall the details
They've upped ours to $2k to play in the Invitational. Basically if you're in one year you can stay in until you decide to back out. Golf courses are just swimming in cash these days
Not sure how your member member is there. My solution to the MG problem is making the MM the biggest event at the club.
Cool shot of the fireworks after day 2 of our MM/MG. Our club just went through an 8 month clubhouse and bunker renovation that was mostly completed in time for the tourney. We had Andrew Green redesign and add/remove/reposition some bunkers and redo our 10th green.
Apparently there’s a 13 year old who is in the final round of qualifying at the SoCal site, and he’s been running off to the halfway house to nab ice creams for all of his classmates that came to watch him.
I think it was the PGA that they cried about, which he eventually got into anyway, but yeah. Didn’t even try for the US Open. Him and Chacarra were the surprising ones
He played and sucked at the PGA. So he missed this one without qualifying and they all whined about it. The idiot whines about everything so I’m sure he was crying about something else last month too.
Dude I met a few times through some mutual friends was tied for the lead at the GA qualifier yesterday going into the last few holes. ended up finishing T5. Would have changed his life. He's been grinding out on mini tours for several years now.
well I think the PGA was the one that changed their qualification for this year from qualifying for the FedEx championship to having to be eligible for the FedEx championship. So that backed him out of qualifying for a bit. But he ended up qualifying anyway. I might have that backwards though and the USGA was the one that changed the qualifying
