He’s really too good a player to only have one major. Hoping Brooks can go low and put some pressure on the final group.
Woodland’s going to shit the bed. He’s gained so many strokes on the green because he’s made 150 ft of putts/chips each round that had no business dropping. That’s going to end under the pressure and he shoots a few over to come back to the field. I want to see Koepka make a run, but I think Rose ends up with a drama free win.
Koepka leads the field in strokes gained approach but is 62nd in SG putting. If his putter gets hot today he’ll be right there on the back 9
Brooks hasn't been particularly aggressive this week. Interested to see if he hits a few more drivers today.
Has been all week. I think his proximity to hole leads the field. Those putts go in today and he’ll be right there. Don’t think a -3 again today will do it.
Was able to play 6 holes before it got rained out today. On the 4th my 7 year old son is in a greenside bunker. I tell him to throw it out but he asks to hit one shot. He hit his best shot of the day by far and it comes straight at my face. I had to knock it away or I woulda got got.
Playing El Camaleon in Mexico tomorrow, same course Kuchar won the Mayakoba Golf Classic w/ the local caddie he “stiffed” this past November. We requested that same caddie for tomorrow, fucking hope it goes through. Can’t wait to talk shit about Kuch
Cool equipment stat... A player has won a major using Wilson irons at least once every decade going back to the 1920s. The streak was very close to ending.
In case anyone is interested in new irons: https://forums.golfwrx.com/discussion/comment/18971580#Comment_18971580 Will give a T-MB $15 discount
Interesting to see the dispersion of your contact points. Your graph would show that the closer to the toe, the higher on the face you strike it.
Who has been playing Wilson irons before Woodland? No need to go back but in the last 5 years i’m having a hard time thinking of who that would be.
The post said major winners so that would exclude all of those but Harrington. Was it supposed to be just “winners”?
Oh, no the majors is correct. Harrington kept the streak alive in the 2000s but Woodland is the only one in the 2010s. The other guys were just wilson staff guys. I thought you were just saying you had a hard time thinking of who was playing W/S
Paige is hot and all that good stuff obviously I'm not golfing/having sex with anything close to that but the hot avg. Arizona IG women's golfer shit kinda gets played out annoying. In other new old white man bad at golf purchases g 410 crossover 2 iron and loves it
Been looking at getting a crossover? What’s your handicap? How far you hitting it compared to some other clubs in your bag?
Got the same club and it definitely fucks I’m about an 18 handicap and I’m hitting that club about 250-260
Was just thinking how good I'd be if I had a club I could consistently hit 250. Speaking of.. Played 9 yesterday and didn't hit a single drive in play. Got my driver shortened an inch afterwards. Played 18 this morning and hit 75% of fairways. Still have a shitty ball flight and not much distance wise but massive improvement.
I rarely even use my driver at the course I normally play. I usually always either use the 2i or a 4i on the non par 3s. There are two drivable par 4s where I’ll pull out driver. Once I get more consistent with it then I’ll break it back out, but it seems like if I just use it 2-3 times a round then I’m usually in the fairway
