Just saw the new Revolution Golf commercial and holy shit Sean Foley looks like the biggest nerd on the planet
It’s unreal how hybrids perform when you put a good swing on it. Hit a top 5 best shot of my life today with one. Pin was 218 at the back of the green but the wind was in our face at least one club. I striped a hybrid baby draw to 10 feet. Cleanest ball I’ve ever maybe hit with a wood.
Don’t think it was posted here but Cory Gilmer, Blayne Barber’s caddy, fell and hit his head in Hawaii at the Sony open. He’s in really bad shape, just had surgery yesterday to remove a big hunk of his skull to try and help brain swelling. Could use some thoughts or prayers or whatever behooves you.
Just got back from a Scottsdale golf trip. Didnt play any of the big name expensive courses, but one course I really liked was the Victory @ Verrado golf club. Course is about a year old so it still needs to grow in some, but it was fantastic views and so peaceful.
No I two putted thanks very much. I won 50 bucks for closest to the pin yesterday after sticking it 2' 8'' on a striped 175 yard 7 iron. Spoiler I missed the putt.
Years ago I played in a group at the course I was running. Any hole in one was $1000 cash plus any skins winnings. I lipped out the hole in one which would have also won a skin and been a total of like $1150. Then missed the 2 footer for birdie which would have won a skin for $150 So I made par and got nothing
Our team finished 4th in the gross and 6th in the net out of 80 teams. We missed 3rd and 5th by one shot In fairness the putt was a pretty good left to right slider. I told myself I wasn't going to miss it on the low side and yanked it across the left lip. My putting is absolutely horrendous.
My girlfriend's best friends from college are from Augusta and receive passes yearly. Secured my invite to the Thursday round tonight.
A co workers gf is friends with the new chairman’s daughter or granddaughter. Hasn’t gotten me anything yet.
Gotta work those connections. After getting rained after a few hours last april on my Monday lottery round tickets I wasn’t sure I’d be able to ever go back.
The most amazing sporting event I have ever attended. And that includes National Championships. Have fun.
Ran into a guy I know from work today who was in Oregon earlier this month playing Bandon. I asked him about the trip and he said "my friend invited me to go with his work and I had never heard of it so I wasn't sure about going." I wanted to strangle him
My wife went to Kohler with her work. All the dudes played three courses. She had no idea that It was a great golf resort. One of their board members was Brazilian and had played golf three times. Whistling Straights was his fourth. He quit after three holes.
Ok, dudes. I know it's been discussed here several times, but.... Give me your recommendations on your favorite courses in the Phoenix area? I'm heading down there with some buddies in early March to golf for 5 days.
Cheaper side: - Arizona Biltmore courses - Links is better than Adobe (Camelback East) - Silverado (Central Scottsdale) - Mountain Shadows (Paradise Valley) - this is an executive course, but the views are incredible - Ocotillo (Chandler) - Legend Trail (North Scottsdale) - Raven Golf Club (South Phoenix) - Talking Stick (Central Scottsdale) - Lookout Mountain (North Central Phoenix) More expensive: - Camelback Golf Club (Central Scottsdale) - Wickenburg Ranch (Wickenburg) - Boulder's (North Scottsdale) - Troon North (North Scottsdale) - TPC Stadium (North Scottsdale)
Awesome...thanks! I noticed that you didn't include either Quintero or We-Ko-Pa in either list. Any particular reason? Just curious because most review website lists has both of those on them ranked high. I definitely trust T-MBers over those lists and rankings.
My buddy that’s a member at Whisper Rock and Silverleaf has always said We-Ko-pa is his favorite public course down there. There are a couple decent tracks down at Wild Horse Pass resort too.
Played We-Ko-Pa back in June, can confirm it's worth the drive/money. Unless you are big on wanting to play courses that host PGA events, I wouldn't spend big $ to play the Stadium course.
After seeing him at the hero and hearing pretty much unanimous reports, I’m buying fusion tiger stock. I’m still not convinced he can stay healthy, but I’m convinced his game is good enough to win a major again.
Out at the demo day. Snuck away for literally 5 minutes. Snapped some pics. Hit the new callaway ball. It’s awesome. MODEVIL should be posting the pics when he can
Nice tall finish, reducing some stress on that back through impact. Will be watching to see how much he starts to dip when he gets under the gun. All in all .....
No particular reason, only because I didn't normally venture too far from Scottsdale/Phoenix. But I've heard great things about both. If you end venturing down my way, The Golf Club at Dove Mountain in Marana is great course.
As tjosu mentioned, Paige hangs out at Troon North a lot. You might also see her at the driving range at ASU Karsten and the lighted driving range at Coronado Golf Club. Also, forgot to mention Grayhawk in North Scottsdale - both are those courses are a lot fun.
Negative Callaway take incoming Haven’t hit it so have no idea on how it feels but the rouge pro top line is thicker than I would like it to be
How’s the rogue? I’ve been so negative on callaway ever since I’ve been playing. Until last year. Broke my driver last year and went to a local spot here in Portland that has the trackman set up etc. hit everything. The Epic was the clear winner and it wasn’t even close. Picked up 8-9 mph of ball speed with the Epic. Whatever they did to that face is fucking crazy - absolutely love the club. Wondering how the Rogue compares.
One of the pro's at my local driving dome had it set up on a trackman while I was leaving. He let me have a few swings and it felt pretty forgiving -- didn't feel too long but obviously i didn't have a lot of swings with it. Unfortunately can't give more than that as I was leaving after spending an hour there hitting so take it with a grain of salt. Spoiler still had 118 swing speed
The Rogue took some weight out of the front jailbreak bars and moved it to the back of the club, so at the very least it will be a little more forgiving without losing distance.
