Hey Tiffin I can edit almost a year later
My local course opens Friday. I am so excited, expect to hit gritzy type numbers of trees on the first day out
Going to Augusta tomorrow. Waking up in 8 hours. Fuuuuuu
I have hit about 27 trees so far this year
Went to Augusta yesterday and watched James Hahn ace #12. That was pretty awesome. Then Geoff Ogilvy nailed a turtle on 16 trying to skip it across the pond. The crowd went nuts.
I really needed you while the board was down
anyone know of any good drills to help eliminate cupping of the left wrist at impact? i've developed a nasty habit of it and it's severely impacted my swing all around (ball striking, distance, etc.). also, not the greatest vid, but this was from 2 weekends ago when me and user CRon_T played up at Amelia Island and the wind was howling all day. hit this one pretty well, but played inconsistently all day due to aforementioned issue
and I needed you man
I was able to pick you up a little something though. I'll get it in the mail next week.
oh I forgot SAWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
GOAT commercial in the GOAT thread
That commercial hits all the feels
Future TMB tournament champion checking in.
are we doing best ball majors this year fish ?
Rough day for defending champ
Not my best but I did back up 2014 championship with first segment win. Don't think the previous champ mounted much of a defense....
You're the one about to be mounted
I went on Tuesday. Rented out bturns house in N. Augusta, hope my group didn't break to much shit
Everything seems intact. Faint smell of piss tho. I think ole boy pissed somewhere in the house. Ima mop it tomorrow. But all is well. Glad you guys emjoyed yourselves.
Clubs are washed. Pants have a respectable crease in them. Shoes looking good.
All is ready for the first round of the year. Very excited.
I've lost the picture from our round
And the video of me punching through that hedge? Aw man
Shot a 97. :Idon'tevencare.gif:
spent a few hours on the range, still loving the mizuno MP-H5s. Was swinging waaaaay to hard for some reason today, must have had some pent up rage, finally stopped dropping my shoulder and the ball feels soooo good off the club face.
Also tried out the apex irons today but really don't like the way they're weighted
You are getting new irons? Thought you just got the TM speed blades or whatever.
rocketbladez from 3 years ago, want something with more feel without getting blades cuz we all know I don't have the game for them
Hmm so you think I should upgrade my 2006 irons?
only if you want something different
Have you looked at the JPX forged? I added the 4 iron to go with my mp-54's and it's pretty sweet. Unfortunately the H series of mp's isn't available to lefties
tried those out first, and they led me to the MP-H5s. I feel like I get the same amount of forgiveness from both the forged jpx's and MP-H5s, I just like the feel and look of the MP-H5s more
I don't understand why some of the mizuno irons are righty only though, seems like an odd decision by mizuno
That's because in Japan, there are no left-handers. It's a cultural difference thing. Everyone is taught to do everything right handed from birth.
everything right handed from birth.
Sounds like your girlfriends
Nice quoting job.
'Twas a long night
It sucks. I'd love to blend my set with mp-4's from 8-pw, but they don't make any blades in lefty.
I wanna see what a forged set feels like vs cast molded
You need to come on the trip to Florida
When and where is it again? July in Florida sounds pretty miserable unless you're talking early af tee times.
Palm beach isn't as bad when you're by the water.
We're gonna play early and late Saturday and early Sunday to make it as reasonable as possible
Shot a 41 on the front yesterday. Still blows my mind how quickly your game can change as I shot a 98 the day prior. Couldn't hit a iron to save my life.
so I went to the range early today to try some different shafts in the mizunos and brought along a few of my clubs, started out terrible but begin correcting things and impoved, head inside to change out the kbs tour for a c taper and get a new bucket of balls. Head back out and see some guy is out setting up next to my stall, nbd, fill up my bucket and head back and start doing my thing, then the guys gf comes out in these super tight leggings, I get my eye full go back about my business.
Then the guy backs out of the stall and hands the girl a club, I am about to witness her first lesson, swings and misses, shank, shank, shank, not much different than anyone else's first time swinging a club. Then the guy starts telling her what to do, and I hear "squat, squat down", I look up and can see basically everything, her ass, the inner bump and its all pretty impressive. Tried to get a photo for you guys but it wasn't possible, and then I immediately start shanking everything :sigh:
You are used to playing with wood
Was dude good enough to be giving lessons?
Went to golf shop yesterday (a top 100 fitting shop in country, got great technology and people working there) and hit some drives and once again realized I need to upgrade my driver game. My current driver has a stiff flex and the shaft is light (like 50 grams) and while it is easy to swing (I gain 3-4 mph), the shaft is to light & not stiff enough, need something a bit more stiff and heavier. Tested about 6-7 drivers.
Found the perfect driver, Cobra Bio-Cell Pro with Project X shaft with X flex and 66 grams set at 9 degrees but since it is the year old model they didn't have a X flex shaft on hand and only have stiff shaft. Also really liked the Ping G30 with X-stiff 80 gram shaft and the new Cobra Fly-Z with x-stiff driver. Didn't feel like spending 300+ bucks on a driver yesterday :/ Probably will get the Bio-Cell online and since I don't like waisting their time will probably go back and eventually get my first set of fitted irons.
I generally think I swing the Cobra well because it is a bit more forgiving and I don't get out enough anymore to stay consistent.
123 swing speed at Golf Galaxy made me feel like a man, too bad I can't chip or putt
no not at all, but it was working out for me so I didn't plan to make him stop
ended up getting the heavier ping shaft last year too on my i25. Has really made a difference
For sure. Swing fitted makes a huge difference, always figured I had a pretty fast swing but figured it was more than the average amateur so I just assumed a stiff shaft. Never had any idea that it was more of a lower tour level speed and an x-stiff was what I needed.
While distance isn't an issue hitting it straight and doing pretty much every other part of the game is. Amazing how hard the pros grind at just working on all aspects of their game.
Played my best round of the year yesterday. Shot a 77 and pulled +7 in our dogfight. I had been struggling with driver accuracy for a while, but I made a slight grip adjustment and hit 11/14 fairways yesterday. If the final round of the Masters wasn't today, I'd be on the course now because it was going so well yesterday.
White tiger man, fucking white tiger
