Playing next week down in the Ocean City, MD area. Looking at two courses. The Links at Lighthouse Sound and Baywood Greens. Has anyone played either of these courses? If so, would you recommend one over the other? TIA.
Interesting to see Shackelford writing for The Athletic but he's also still doing his own blog. And I don't see any introductory article/tweet like normal announcing him at The Athletic.
wat? Hes won a major championship, 2 fed ex cup championship events, 2 WGC events and the Honda. Those are pretty big wins imo.
fair point, I was tipsy and just meant jordan won the masters, u.s. open, and the open championship all so young. lol at throwing the honda in there.
It’s amazing some of the golf course hubs you see in the country. You could have similar graphics for Monterrey, the Hamptons, Pinehurst, Philly, Westchester, Palm Beach, etc.
I'm joining a pool with some friends and I am trying to decide who I want to pick. You pick 4 golfers and can only pick 1 from the top 5 with the current best odds of winning (Koepka, JT, Bryson, Rory, and Rahm). The scores of all 4 golfers are combined for your score total (so can't have anyone miss the cut or you are done). I am leaning towards: - JT - Xander - Finau - Webb Simpson Thoughts?
Finau seems like a wasted pick, he is going to have the breakthrough at a smaller stage before he wins a major IMO
Hopefully they pair Bryson with Kevin Na and JB Holmes and send them off last so we have something to watch until midnight.
Any of you guys familiar with courses in the Myrtle Beach / Pawleys Island area? We are headed to Pawleys next month and I'm looking to book a couple tee times. I've played most the Pawleys courses so was hoping to venture to some others in the area
Caledonia, True Blue, Dunes Club, Thistle, Pawleys Plantation, grand Dunes (members course), River Club (haven’t played in a while so may not be good anymore), Thistle (a little further north), Heritage. If you have any others you’re considering let me know I’ll tell you if I’ve played it or not in the last 2 years.
Blackmoor, Man O'War (looks like it could be cheesy but also possibly great), Barefoot (any of them), TPC Myrtle, King's North, and Moorland are the ones that have caught my eye in some early research. I've played all the courses directly in Pawley's, mainly Heritage Club.
I have only played King’s North, I think that has the hole with “the gambler” sign? Not horrible, but based on what I just looked at online those Barefoot courses look pretty dang good. A lot of people like TPC MB. Just don’t play World of Golf and you’ll have made a good decision from my list or your list or any info sc_chant provides.
Only thing against Barefoot, is you're taking a hike from where you're going to be. I enjoy Prestwick and Pine Lakes a lot. Heritage and Tradition are fun. Stay way from Legends. Myrtlewood Palmetto is a nice track along with Arrowhead.
Looking forward to Kevin Na finding a place on the course completely out of play for pros and pointing out how the rough is unplayable.
Tron and Soly should just shut up about the matchups. It is not about them. Those are great feature groups.
PGA of America does the groupings. The PGA tour is the one they are ripping for their preview and I think the criticism is on point.
I know they aren’t bitching about the groups. They’re bitching about the group descriptions forcing FedEx Cup history/standings. My point was who the fuck cares? Who sees those groups and even needs to read the descriptions?
