I actually think Tiger cares about them in some form acknowledging they were wrong (and he was right). Cantlay definitely cares about the revenge aspect of getting the money back or making them forfeit earnings. Spieth, whatever. He is one of those guys who would have never moved anyway and always been butthurt whatever the outcome given how shitty his game has been the last two years.
It doesn’t really matter to me since I’ve stopped watching but I hope every player that went to liv gets fired into the fucking sun
If anyone needs some wedges PM me. These are all new in the wrapper but have been in my shop for a while. Most are 1 year previous generation but haven’t been hit out on the course. Would like 85 per wedge shipped to a reasonable distance from Tennessee.
I think in the past those tournaments technically had no official stance on it, which in turn allowed those players to play. It was a bit up in the air whether that would/could change though. This is basically just reaffirming that LIV players definitely will be involved in them moving forward.
There is nothing newsworthy about that, there is no change. The non-exempt are still going to find it tough to qualify for either PGA of America event. Congrats to Andrew Waterman for getting them to make a pointless pr release in exchange for playing 8 holes there on Tuesday.
The whole “horses for courses” thing gets really interesting when the player has no unique, differentiated skillset. Like I get Bubba being lefty, long, and being able to work it around Augusta’s doglegs and ZJ hitting his wedges incredibly well at the John Deere. But what’s the story here exactly?
I think it starts with the fact that he is playing against a mid DP Field plus Rory. He does everything solid not spectacular. Time of year he gets his game playing best after the summer stretch of the PGA Tour that are good fits for him. (Wyndam, St Jude, and East Lake) It's like Davis Love at Harbor Town. That doesn't need to be a good fit for him but he f'ing slayed there
My club does a "par by design" program for youths where it starts children at a young age to always think about shooting par. The format is twice a week he goes up there for practice. it's like a 12 kid clinic and they work on putting/chipping and there is a lesson format where they teach them the rules of the game (my son hates this part) then 4 times this fall you have a 9 hole match where the kids attempt to break par. They start at cones 25 yards away from the hole and then if they shoot par or better, the next match they back up to 50 yard cones, then to 100, 150 etc. until by the time they are teenagers most of the kids are playing close to the adult tees and shooting in the 70s. But for the first several years you're just working on putting. It's a great concept and I really wish I had done something like this as a kid. Anyways Saturday was my son's first match at 25 yards and he shot a 34 to move up! of about 24 kids in his age group (5-7) him and only 2 other kids moved up. You can already tell a huge difference in his putting stroke. He is still lukewarm about golf and would much rather be playing baseball, but golf is probably his best sport. It's been a lot fun to see him figure some stuff out this year.
Meanwhile every week I get to play with guys shooting 130 refusing to play from anything besides the tips This mindset is way better
Had one of my best ball striking days in a long time. Shot 78 but 5 penalty shots from lost balls. 2 drives OB and one drive in the water. Everything else felt great. Also, filmed a couple of outings for Circle Life and hoping to have the YouTube channel up soon. Definitely appreciate any feedback and ideas for future. It’s hard to shoot and play while keeping pace so learning as I go.
6300 is my sweet spot I pretty much bully my friends (10-18 handicaps) if they want to play anything longer “Feel free to move back if you are making too many birdies”
I shoot from the second most forward tees and my distance is pretty solid. I’m just not good at scoring yet.
I know someone that went to the Orlando event and said they had a great time. Not because of the team format or shotgun start or blasting music or goofy shit, but it was like taking a walk around a golf course that wasn’t very crowded and Phil, DJ, Koepka etc just happened to be playing.
