Anyone know if there's a great club fitter in SC? I'm all over the state all the time so it doesn't matter much where in the state it is. Have started playing biweekly and going to the range at least one time other than that and will be playing more than that over the summer. I'm using my clubs from high school (Titleist 990b) and they're more than worn out. I hit my buddy's AP2 15-20 further per club than I do mine.
There's a guy at wild dunes that's really good, can't remember his name. I have a set of 690 MBs, you're hitting the ap2's so much longer in part because the lofts are drastically different
My best friend has a condo on WD. He plays a lot of golf I'll ask him about it. Thanks. On the loft bit I hit the AP2 higher as well but that obviously doesn't just have to do with loft.
Just picked up some FJ DNA's and a used 56* Vokey for $60 in good shape. Wish there were more PGA superstores around me love that place
Big Break Spoiler Kinda weird finale with the weather blowing through quickly. Richy was the better player and deserved to win. It sure seemed like they pushed the tees forward to give them birdie chances. They always seemed to have short irons in on par 4s.
So you got 121, not 124. Someone is going to have to explain to me how a different ball somehow increases clubhead speed, because that sounds fucking retarded.
Spoiler Didn't think about that at the time but now that you say it that definitely seems like it was the case. Of the two I think Richy definitely is the better player but I thought Robert seemed like the strongest competitor throughout and would've liked to see him in the final over Justin. I need to try to remember to look up which tournament he'll be playing in on the Tour to see how he does from those tees.
Unless that's a typo, one or more things was wrong with that ball fitting. 1270 Rpm is really low, like almost too low to keep the ball in the air. Combine that with your club head speed and ball speed not matching, and I'm not sure I would trust that ball fitting.
While I agree his numbers aren't right I've had really low spin numbers like that too and even had people comment on the course it looks like I was hitting a knuckleball so spin numbers can be that low and get good distance
Bought some MacGregor irons for cheap. Irons I had were 10+ years old, and I figured until my ball striking is anything more than shit, I shouldn't spend too much money on any clubs. Haven't been able to hit them yet, but they're supposed to be pretty forgiving.
I was just about to go back and post these..big money saver over the "purpose built" golf alignment rods.
I spend all my money on Cleveland wedges, which I'm good with. It's kinda baffling how good I am with wedges and how bad I am with everything else.
I have offered advice and like to think I've helped a couple other Nole TMBers with their golf swing, if you're interested.
Definitely interested. Entirely too many of my friends play golf to not play. But I suck at the moment, so it's hard for me to justify the expense.
I suck to but Im getting better. Its also something I enjoy that gets me out of the house. Hey undrtow I really need help with my driver and 3 wood. I cant hit it to save my life
I was hoping to try to get my game somewhat in order for the TMB outing, but I hurt my back and can't play for at least 4 weeks per the doctor
I had this thought. Maybe it will keep me from swinging so hard. That's how I get myself in trouble. Usually when I dial it back some, I hit it straight. The problem is, I can't get myself to dial it back in the middle of a round.
Yeah, spin that low isn't unheard of. Didn't mean for it to come across like that was impossible. But all of those stats combined don't seem to add up to make sense. My first thought was he was hitting a knuckle ball but off the toe or the heel, which could be causing the skewed ball speed numbers.
We need to set up a long drive competition between Gritzy and Jigga. I've got the early line as Jigga -12.5 yards
Golf weekend coming up around Orlando. Playing Grand Cypress tomorrow. Two rounds at ChampionsGate Friday (National and International) and at least one round at Celebration on Saturday. Has anyone played them?
How much in exposure did Jordan Spieth give Under Armour in his last four tournaments? -- JAB In short, a ton. When he won the Masters two Sundays ago, he was clad in 16 Under Armor logos between his hat, shirt, pants, belt and shoes. The morning after Spieth slipped into a Green Jacket for the first time, the company’s stock spiked 2 percent. The four outfits Spieth wore during the Masters? All sold out by the time he was taking selfies atop the Empire State Building.
It just dawned on me that Jigga doesn't get laid because he spends all his time at the driving range. This whole time I thought your wife was just a hateful shrew. Man do I owe her an apology.
