I begrudgingly flew American in December and the plane was newer and not awful but Delta and United are far better.
My new toy came in today. Can’t wait to head to the putting green to start working on my feel with it
might buy my buddy's used scotty cameron studio newport 2 but he doesn't really know what it's worth? what should i offer him?
What do you think, that a putter only has so many putts in it?? If it's in good shape it's in good shape.
Yeah, if it’s in good shape. That wasn’t indicated at all in the first post. That kinda matters to estimate value.
I used to love the look of the Newport detour putter. And then once I rolled it didn’t care for it. But I think I paid 150 (3/4 years ago)for it. Traded it in for 100 at austads and they now have it marked for 200.(also it’s one of two there). I usually look at the pga value guide and try and lowball from there. Without seeing it, 200 would be my max, I sold a 2018 Newport for 260 last year. if it looks like this, I have the matching headcover for it.
I did a project with Yas Links sister course this year but of course since everything sucks right now I didn’t get to travel there
thanks fellas. we're going to a golf store in a bit and i'm gonna putt around to make sure i like it before pulling the trigger
It’s what odyssey call their mystery putter. It doesn’t have a name and is basically a prototype they gave pros to get feedback. They took the feedback and then created a named putter to sell. A buddy has one and I hit with it last week. It felt so sweet that the next day I searched the internet and bought one. I guess you could say it’s sort of a collectors item as there isn’t many out there.
Flipped to the LPGA event. It's a celebrity pro-am. In second place for the celebs? Annika Sorenstam. What the fuck? Why is she allowed to play as a celebrity?
Broke 80 for the first time today with a 78. Shot -1 on the back 9 and was driving the ball out of my mind my only bad drive was off the first tee and I thought I was fucked for the day
Got a pretty standard net and the TeeStrike mat for now, we'll see how it goes. If the mat causes problems I'll probably grab a higher end strip to add on vs paying $900 for the full square
Lucked into an invite to play the stadium course in Scottsdale in April. Now looking for another spot to play in the Scottsdale area on the trip. Any recs?
This comes up several times a year. If you use the search function to search this thread only you'll find tons of suggestions.
We-Ko-Pa is your answer. I believe Saguaro is the number one public course in AZ. Not as expensive as some of the others either.
Quintero is an hour drive and another hundred or so. Not quite as good of a course. I really enjoyed it.
We booked the Cholla course at We-Ko-Pa for Friday afternoon. Stadium course Saturday morning. Thanks for the recs, guys
lol it’s a great course, but I liked Saguaro better. And if we’re talking favorites we’ve played I’ve got to throw in Whisper Rock, Mirabel, And Silverleaf over Quintero as well.
I've been hitting balls on the mat and if anything it's probably a little too padded/squishy. Does that just mean that the penalty for a fat shot is reduced compared to a real fairway?
Mat or not, you should know when you compress it. Put the ball on the edge to help mitigate the potential joint damage. Also, keep your clubface clean and check for the ball impression on the face to see where your striking it.
