My arccos probably says something similar. Because it didn’t record my second shot and I was too lazy to add it. So I added an extra putt and marked as a chip.
The biggest thing for me with the "What about?"'s is that the choice between buying oil from nefarious characters versus destroying the Dakota's, Alaska, our shorelines, and habitats etc is a choice between two pretty shitty options, but a choice ultimately has to be made and and live with the consequences. With golf, the choice not to support sports washing is pretty easy. I just wouldn't consume golf outside of the majors and Ryder Cup. There is plenty of other options to consume sports that isn't Greg Norman and the Saudi government. I'll just do something else.
Zurich New Orleans should be a one PGA / one LPGA tournament. Gives only one PGA player the PGA win, huge purse and eyeballs for LPGA. We don't have to watch Whydham Clark and Chris Kirk get blasted despite shooting a combined 66 against the one top 10 OWGR duo that plays that year
There is obviously something between the PGA Tour and LPGA that don't get along. There is zero interaction and neither side themselves ever express any interest in doing so. The entire golf consuming world is asking for it, and it just isn't going to happen.
Still searching for the 1st hole n one. Played yesterday at my home course. I was on hole 9 which is a par 4 with a water hazard on the right and a large pond you have to go over on your approach shot to the green. I pushed my 3 wood off the tee and it bounced into the hazard on the right. I took my drop and was about 150 out to a front pin. I hit a flush 9 iron and it looked good from the start. One of my playing partners was left of me about 30 yards up and suddenly looked back and said "I think it went in". Because of the angle of the sun I didn't see it land. Went up to the green and sure enough it was in the hole. My ball mark was about 10 feet in front so it must of bounced once or twice and rolled in. Not a hole n one, but a nice way to chalk up a birdie. Also, 150 for 9 iron is a solid distance. I used to hit my old clubs about 10 yards shorter, have to love technology.
Back on site for 2 days at a course. So many god damn knuckle draggers saying the tour should just let the liv guys play and shit. Gonna bleed from biting my tongue so hard
A guy I played with this weekend at our club tournament got his first hole in hole. Was getting a stroke on the hole too, so nice to put down a net 0 on a hole. first hole in one I’ve ever witnessed.
I’d say the LIV guys earned their way too. They’re not being offered ridiculous money bc they suck at golf
Played with a senior group I’ll play with sometimes. Had a 758 and saw them teeing off as a threesome at 728. Walked up to the starter and asked if I could join them. He said no, so I yelled good morning to one of them and he asked if I wanted to play with them. Looked at the starter then grabbed my stuff. Always enjoy playing with them, because they all hit driver and I’ll play the same tees and only hit a six iron.
I’d never seen the guy before, just a linear thinker, it’s all good. Also there’s a couple guys in the morning who will let you go out as a single but in the afternoon they throw a hissy fit.
Same guy, 30 seconds apart. “I can’t wait to see how much they’re gonna pay Rory to get him to leave, they can make so much money to set up their family they need to take it” “They should only pay these college football players $500 a month. Money is ruining college football”
How will you feel on the back nine on Sunday? Anticipating any fatigue or is that not a factor yet? 50 is around the corner for me and three consecutive rounds might be tough. I don't know for sure because I haven't done that in 15 years.
I’m more concerned with the possible hangover on Sunday than the fatigue from golf & I am right there with you on age. I can still play every day without physical issues though.
Consumption is the biggest factor, no doubt. I feel like I'd be good for 2 days and start to drag on 3. Do you play 18 everyday regularly?
Took a guys trip to Prairie Club last summer. 12 guys...drove 5 hrs there on a Thursday and played 18 upon arrival. Then played 36 on Friday and 36 on Saturday before coming back on Sunday. That last 18 on Saturday was beyond useless for me.
So how do you know if you could play everyday without issue? Not trying to be a dick here but one of the things I’ve discussed with non-golfers (who claim that golfers aren’t athletes) is the wear and tear. If I had to play 4 rounds in four days, I’m not going to be at my best on day four. And those guys spend a ton of time on the range during the week as well.
I’ve never not been able to go. Take a trip every year & play 5 days straight with most days being 36 & yet to have an issue. Often go 36 on my Friday’s & Saturday’s, but I guess it will catch me one day
Like a week ago I saw their putter on Costco's website but they didn't have the right handed Kirkland putter. Not the case anymore on both cases
Just checked and there's 62k people on the LIV Golf feed. I think this is getting worse? And its Friday of a holiday weekend with no PGA competition. Ouch.
