Golf Thread 2.0 - Zach Johnson hates you and your family

I can't stand their scoreboard.

 

all of the buzz and excitement really dies away when the golf starts.

 

it's like college recruiting if they didn't actually play the games, the commits and off the course drama is all they have

 

Who knew that nobody would care about a tournament that doesn’t mean anything. Who knew?

 

Drive for show, putt for dough....amirite guys?

 

Andy Johnson is on a crusade to elevate about 50 up from KFT and many sane voices are like maybe chill on that take a bit.

Andy is approaching it from the side of you have a lot of dudes coasting on the ass end of the tour with cards/exemptions and saying let's bring up young guys instead. But then you have guys like Datagolf saying that if you actually look at resumes now there aren't that many guys that have really proven that they would come up and be anything better than low end tour players outside of flashes. The Morikawa/Hovland/Wolf class, followed by Zalatoris anomaly not getting status due to covid, and then Cam Davis/Sahith are not normal classes.

 

Played at my buddies club in his big skins game yesterday. About $1500 total in the pot. Played like crap and didn’t win any skins but my birdie on a par 3 won some money. After entry fee I profited $10.

Nah. Knew I wasn’t going to play good. Mental gap in my game. When it’s been raining a lot and cart path only I never play good. Just happy to be playing golf with buddies on Friday with football starting this weekend.

 

55 on the front and 41 on the back yesterday. Deep pot bunkers are rude as hell man.

 

yesterdays huge announcement that some were weirdly excited about was that the players are able to wear shorts!!

 

i was on the fence about LIV but getting to see DJ in bland adidas shorts instead of pants has me converted

 

You have no idea how jealous I am of seeing elevation changes.

 

I played that a couple years ago. Really enjoyed it. I hit a lot of 3 woods off the tee iirc.

Playoff in the LIV event. It's funny to listen to the gallery pipe up on live mics. When DJ got ready to hit a loud clear voice siad "DJ, end this shit!"

 

They're interviewing a guy that Neimann hit with his drive and he's wearing a Trump hat.

 

And yet he was calling for peace. Some trumpers have small bits of good inside them.

 

This is too bad. Guy has done a ton for golf in Wisconsin

 

Never thought I'd be all-in on Billy Ho, yet here we are.

 

Well came the closest I've ever come to a hole in one on Sunday. 135 yard par 3 and bounced a PW right in front of the hole. Watched it head to the pin and lip out. My brother had already jumped on my back and everyone was yelling, but it didn't happen. My heart was pounding like hell and of course I wait for everyone to putt out for what felt like half an hour. Go up there and missed the fucking 2 footer coming down hill . I used to be a terrible putter but have really made a lot of strides over the past few years and haven't missed a short putt like that in a long time. Man I was hot. In hindsight I should have walked up and tapped it in before everyone hit. The time in between shots definitely fucked with my head.

 

Really fuck track. Did you get a chance to play The Cascades as well?

 

I fucking hate missing two footers for birdie. Sucks you came so close to a hole in one. I'm sure you'll get one soon.

would have liked to see Theegala over Kiz but we are going to wreck shit regardless. good for kiz for making a team.

 

Kiz is a really good match play player and I’m sure it was a team decision. Theegala will def make future teams.

Because the stress Spieth puts on himself is going to make him look 50 very soon
