I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it
As someone who doesn't have a strong opinion on any of them, lets hear the takes
My xander take is a bit light but he just seems kinda meh but the broadcast was pumping him up as the funny fry guy so I’ll give him a pass. JT is Spaulding Schmales and a bigot. I don’t know how Spieth comes off so normal being his “par day”. Cantlay has always sucked and thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room plus his pants are terrible. Kisner is fine for a redneck but way too barstool adjacent.
Never ceases to amaze me how much many T-MBers love to be holier than thou nowadays...
Didn't expect to see The Reckoning tonight but then again, shit happens.
I appreciated Max calling out Randy saying everything he does is a bit and his name is Phil
Do you do what I do and putt it one handed?
I know I don’t watch as much golf as most in here but how have I missed billy Horschels putting routine. Made me want to gouge my eyes out.
These 2 back to back are something
Big paws on the puppy (cub). Charlie has the hands of a 20 year old.
Is this on the latest pod? I’ve almost stopped listening to any that include Randy
Randy was on all week. Schuster bros have been MIA this week
Before I moved to a mallet it’d putt it left handed and make em 95% of the time which made me even more mad if not given
god damn, he does have some big ass hands.
So, which golfers do you approve of?
Do I spend thousands and join the really nice country club here or do I save it and play every now and then while doing a golf trip somewhere? Need input and guidance.
join the club no doubt
Club. Especially if it comes with other benefits and a range you can use at will.
That’s what I was thinking. Unlimited range and great practice facility. Looking to start working with my girls so it will be a great place for them.
I’ve only been to the club my in-laws are a part of, but it makes me envious every time. Can go to the range anytime until like 6pm, access to the bar/restaurant, tennis/pickle ball court, pool, exercise room, etc.
Clubs have gotten way too expensive around me. It’s like $150k initiation to join the one down the street. I put in a SkyTrak at home and play all the public courses with a group of guys. And I don’t feel bad splurging on golf trips. So really depends how many thousands you’re talking about.
Tough to put a value on not having to deal with public course jackassery (it's probably not $150k, to be fair). Clubs have their own problem people to be sure, but it's so much easier to avoid/address in a club structure.
Are you proletariat or bourgeois?
What did the skytrak system run that you got run. Got any pics of the finished product? I'm a pretty handy guy and was thinking about putting together a diy Sim build.
I bought a basic skytrak package from Rain or Shine Golf. It came with a Skytrak, mat, and net, and then I run it through my iPad. I think it was around $3500 or so for a basic setup. Obviously can get much more expensive if you want to go with an impact screen and projector setup. I think I posted pics in here years ago when I set it up, so I'll see if I can track them down.
The area I live in has 5 public courses and nothing private. I enjoy playing most of them with my friends.
I joined a small private club as an out of town member about 50 mins from my house. Great practice area and amenities. Pace of play is strictly enforced and I can play 18 solo in the afternoons in just over two hours.
The day that made me join was after playing one of the local public courses with my 5 year old and we got hit into twice. One ball bounced through the cart and almost hit him in the face. I was done after that. Now I will take him and he can fart around the practice area all he wants, hit a million range balls, and if I play he’s not sitting in the cart for 4 hours. It’s not really a perk that I thought about when joining.
16 of us headed to Old Waverly/Mossy Oak Friday/Sunday. Weather looks pretty ideal
Enjoy. I worked at waverly when I was at MSU. Loved that place. It was so great to get off at the end of the day and get a round in for free. There’s a short dogleg right that I lost a lot of balls on trying to hit over the trees to get it on the green. I think I only made it once. Also, came super close to an albatross on 9. Rolled the second shot right up to the hole. One more roll and it would have went in.
It’s no where near that. Money is reasonable. My only hesitation is I only get to play 2-3 times a month. Just not sure if I want to spend the money when I don’t get to play as much as I want. Probably will pull the trigger so I can have a nice place to start working with my kids and take clients.
Plus an excuse to maybe play more or At least take advantage of the free range. As well as, good support for kids growth in golf.
Excited because I get to play 36 holes today, birthday tradition, disappointed because the one buddy who said he’d take the day off texted me 20 minutes after there was a penalty for canceling at one course so I’m gonna have to pay double or some shit.
So LIV is going to actually pay FS1 to air it’s tournaments. That’s amazing
happy birthday. I’d pay double to play 36 today.
Thank you. 82 in the morning and 89 in the afternoon. Not good, but still better than shooting hire. Atleast I got one birthday Birdie.
I mean...you did mean the word "higher" right?!
No I clearly messed that up. I have defect in my brain that does it all the time.
That's wild and got a sensible chuckle out of me when I read it
What a bummer
I have to think that legal suit click bait is like slide 9 on the strategy doc ppt presentation for LIV
Justine under oath in a court is what the world needs in 2022 though
Congrats on your birthday bird.
