Took a 12-man golf trip to the RTJ Birmingham courses this weekend. Even though Ross Bridge is closed because they accidentally destroyed their greens, the other two courses (Oxmoor Valley and Oxmoor Ridge) were a ton of fun. Pretty difficult tracks, but a really great place. They also are about to open a new Par 3 course called The Backyard. Similar concept to The Cradle. 9 holes anywhere from 70 to 135 yards. Since we had booked as a large group, they let us play it both days, and we were the only ones out there, which was phenomenal. Anyway, if you're looking for a relatively cheap but fun golf weekend, I highly recommend the place.
You got the play the new par 3 course? That’s awesome. It used to be 18 holes ranging from 105-200+ but they just renovated it.
Yeah, never played the old one, but the new one is very compact and a lot of fun. I think it opens to everyone at the end of the month.
Played in a charity tournament today. We played terrible and came in at -13. Leader in the clubhouse for a while then a -23 gets turned in. It’s always funny to me the scores that win tournaments. One of my buddies was telling me of a tournament he played where they took the 3 top scores and made them play 18 in a sudden death in front of everyone. He said all of them were chunking/shanking. I would have loved to see that and just laughed at them claiming the lowest score.
The old one was totally unwalkable and from the tips every hole was 170-200 with elevation. The new one sounds like the cradle at pinehurst.
anybody care to give a cliffnotes version of tourist sauce? just the boys vlogging on a sick golf trip? i have listened to the pod on and off for years but have never watched.
this but they do a good job of highlighting the culture of the area they visit as well. like a travel show but with golf, while competing against each other to see who wins the season.
Planning a group trip to Scottsdale for March/April. From what I can tell, most of the good public courses are going to come in around $250-300. Does that sound about right?
If you want to start catching up, start with either California or Ireland. That's when the production value got much better.
We just got back from a four day golf trip in Scottsdale. Played Boulders, Sunridge Canyon, Troon North, and We-Ko-Pa. Booked our trip through a company called golf troop. They will book all your tee times in advance for you. Trip included 4 rounds and 4 night stay at an airbnb. Total was $1200/ which was much cheaper than other trips we’d taken. Definitely recommend playing both sides of Troon North, We-Ko and Sunridge Canyon. Skip boulders. Greens ran about an 8 and way too many blind shots for playing the course for the first time.
Has anyone ever done the B Draddy sampler polo deal? Three random polos for $100 but you don't know what you are getting and cannot be returned.
Well I ordered it today. Used Shotgun Start promo code for 25% off so if I don't like them I figure my wife can sell them on Facebook for $25 a piece at least For reference SGS25 is the promo code
