    Agreed, and he used to be pretty enjoyable. His back and forth with Shackleford and ramblings about backstopping have been brutal. I want to believe he's being disingenuous in it all but I don't think that's the case

    My biggest annoyance with Kip really resulted in that whole backstopping argument. Amy explained the whole situation and said they were trying to help pace of play because Wie was waiting on a ruling. Kip kept saying that Ariya was "25 yards away" and that it would have taken too long to wait for her to mark it, when she was actually greenside on her chip. Also, since they were waiting on a ruling for Wie, that extra 1-2 minutes to wait for her to mark wouldn't have made a difference. I do agree that Amy likely was not trying to use the ball to help, and neither should be called a cheater, but that whole situation just doesn't make sense why it wouldn't have been marked.

    I agree it probably should have been marked and he did exaggerate the distance away. I took his arguement as him sticking up for the players in that the intention to cheat wasn't there. Shackleford basically called them cheaters and Kip took the other side.

    This is where I think he's being obtuse. Anyone who has legitimate arguments against backstopping would acknowledge that this situation is far different than if the ball is a couple feet from the hole. Not only is the unmarked ball well beyond the hole, it's also way off line
