What’s the word on those Snell balls? Anybody play them? Says it’s the guy that patented ProV1 and Taylormade balls and he’s worked for a ton of golf ball R&D. Might pick some up
I’ve played the left dash a bit this summer. I like it for sure, but I think I still prefer the OG mainly due to feel.
I bought a dozen or two a couple years ago and they seemed to be a quality ball but got scuffed pretty easily iirc. They may have ironed that out by now.
I’ve played snells for two years and they are very durable. I hit a lot of trees and cart paths so take it from me.
I’ve played the mtb black ball a little this summer and liked the ball. Availability obviously seems to be an issue.
My cheap ass finally started playing the Snell’s after graduating from Kirklands (yay on only losing a sleeve-ish a round….) and they’re tremendous golf balls.
We had a Bama vs. MS/LA ryder cup the past couple years and played Grand Bear and Preserve. I absolutely love the Preserve. Grand Bear was fine but not really noteworthy. Heard awesome things about Fallen Oak but haven't played.
Fallen oak is amazing. Nicest course I've ever played. They only have a few tee times a day go through there and the course shows it. Haven't gotten a chance to play the preserve because I can usually get on fallen oak and the grand bear for free.
Did the same thing. Preserve was better than Grand Bear for sure. Our group was also in bad shape for the Sunday round at GB
Have a golf trip in October with our crew. Shell Landing Friday (18), The Preserve Saturday (36), Grand Bear Sunday (18)
Played shell landing and wasn't a big fan. That's the course locals play and it was picked on a Friday mid morning. Cheap though.
I'm not sure, I have to imagine it went something like the tour has a new sponsor willing to pony up big money and I'm sure they wanted a west coast event being a Korean car company. Barclays was on the way out and Pointe Vedra probably sold NT on taking over a playoff event. Being in financial services NYC/Boston is a good location for NT too. This is their last year sponsoring an event too. I just wish they switched events with the BMW (used to be the Western Open) and held the event in Chicago.
“I know you didn’t really go grab it from your car, but if you had to, how long do you think it would take?” He should have shamed that person and told him he’s not allowed to ask anything else, lol.
Holy hell. Hideki just hit a tee shot that bounced a couple times on the path and went up a guy’s shorts. Somehow the guy was smart enough to stand still until an official got there so they could go through the motions for the drop
Any golf recs in Phoenix? I’ll be there for thanksgiving and may try and play with some family members. Probably nothing too difficult or expensive would be ideal
There’s plenty of really good spots but that is getting into prime season so what are you thinking as expensive? Talking Stick is good and should be on the cheaper side, under $100 I’d think. We-Ko-Pa is always highly touted but I’ve never been there and their website says it’s around $185 then. Troon North is great but likely around the same price point as We-Ko-Pa
I’m no help on those but I think we have one or two Phoenix guys in here, maybe The B1G Kucktis? I thought he helped me out a while back
Talking Stick, Papago, Lookout Mountain, Raven, Whirlwind, and the Biltmore would be places I’d try. Troon, We Ko Pa and the Phoenician will be crazy expensive come Thanksgiving. I’d also try Grand Canyon’s course, it’s quite nice given the location.
Shot an 82 and lost one (1) golf ball. Wife is mad it took so long but you can’t touch me today. Cloud 9.
correct, they're scheduled to finish Monday. can't believe they scheduled a tournament in Jersey City during the middle of hurricane season but here we are.
I was joking because it's not exactly a hurricane hotspot, but according to wikipedia 84 times in recorded history (I searched New York because they are just outside NYC.)
Same for me this morning from our back tees while walking. I treated myself to double hasbrowns with bacon, cheese, and onions topped with a fried egg. Added Heinz 57 sauce too. And holy shit do I have the worst ever heart burn.
