yeah i usually take the 4 iron out, but i'm gonna try out the p790 4 iron and see if i like it more than my old clubs
best irons for an 11 handicap go currently hitting Mizunos JPX 919 Hot metals. I think they are from 2011. I like them but I am missing my 4 and 5 iron and ready for the change.
honestly i'm blanking on the exact model # because they are hand me downs from my dad that i have only been hitting for a few months. So googled and guessed. They are JP something hot metal i know that.
I’ve got jpx 900 hot metals from like 2015 or so, so that’s the only reason I knew that was wrong. I love them. You could always upgrade to the newest Mizuno hot metals. They make great irons. Just go get fitted and see what you hit well.
yeah kinda leaning toward buying lightly used just to save the money. I guess I could still get fitted though and see where it goes.
I'd look at the last few golf digest hot lists for game improvement or player distance irons.. But whatever you can find a deal on.
yeah prefer something one or two notches easier to hit than blades. but still want something with some feel to it. i'll post whatever I settle on.
I know this is a despised brand.. But these are 79 bucks an iron and I love them. Got them with a graphite shaft that' I really like for no additional cost. Easy to hit but don't look like they are for super high handicappers. https://www.pxg.com/en-us/clubs/irons/0211
I kind of want to watch as I’ve played these courses (they are using holes that span two different courses) dozens of times. But fuck them, can’t give the click.
Played ironhorse today for those familiar with Omaha/Ashland courses. bertwing got another divot tool added to the ring. Putted extremely well especially some dope lag putts. Played shitty everywhere else.
A few pages behind but the closest I have ever been to a hole in one was the first time I had ever played. It was a par 3 course. I was like 9 and my buddy's dad took us for his tenth birthday. Prior to that round I had whacked some balls at a driving range a few times but that was it
You know if been thinking about this a lot recently and do not want to look it up. If I missed a short putt and walk up and knock it in with the topside of the putter and not the face, is than an illegal stroke. Now that I type that I think Kevin na made sports center doing that one.
I mean, is chipping with the front side of your blade putter an illegal stroke, a la Fred Couples? What about turning over a 4-iron and hitting it in front 259 like the DJ commercial?
Not illegal. Neither is turning a club around and using the back to hit a lefty shot if you have to do so
Anyone have any good golf book recommendations? Audio. Just finished the cup they couldn’t lose by Shane Ryan and Phil by AS. Not Tom coyne books though or Tiger books, read them all.
Tour is in trouble.. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/li...s-caddies-benefits-money-sponsors-coaches/amp
Yeah fuck LIV and the Saudi's for the umpteenth time. I really hope they blow billions and have nothing to show for it. The start of that piece is reason no. 58 why I hate it.
An American Caddie in St Andrews by Oliver Horovitz or St Andrews Sojourn by George Peper are both easy/enjoyable reads. Also timely for the Open in a couple weeks
Two of my favorite books in the world, and the reason I joined St Andrews GC as an overseas member. Gotta get back soon.
Is that the book responsible for the phone app that does various 3:1 ratio metronome type beats based on the idea that a lot of tour players have that in common?
