That round at Rustic with fish really recharged my golf batteries, when you play the same course every single week it can all blend together and make it hard to find motivation sometimes. Being at Rustic Canyon will always remind me how much fun the sport is supposed to be, not to mention being out there with fish was a major upgrade from the random 60+ crowd I get paired with typically. Anyways after my rough driving day on Tuesday, I set the driver to the Draw setting on the adapter and absolutely clobbered it today. 4 birdies and just 1 bogey en route to a 69, beating my career low at the San Clemente Muni by a stroke, and also matching my career best under par (I shot 68 on a par 71 course once) I must confess to one thing though, which fish can attest to: Spoiler the LAB isn't in the bag at the moment . I switched back to my Scotty Phantom 5.5 a few weeks ago. I feel like I've let my LAB brothers down. Also from the "You can't make this shit up" category, given what we just discussed in here: On 18 today after a drive into the left rough, I could not find my ball despite the fact I saw the exact line it was on AND the bounce it took. Nowhere to be found. I started to get the feeling one of the guys in my group accidentally played my ball, but by the time I made that assumption, he was halfway to the green. I dropped where I saw him hit "his" ball and put it onto the green. I drive up and ask if it was possible he had accidentally played mine and he looked at me like I asked for his wife's phone number. He holds up the ball and sure enough there's a Titleist 24 with Tiger's scores from the 2019 Masters written on the side. Uh yeah that's definitely mine. So naturally as we discussed in this thread, I did the proper and responsible thing and stabbed him in the throat repeatedly with my divot repair tool
On the “golf!” front, since I got my new putter, I haven’t had a round with over 36 putts. Made the comment to my coach on Wednesday that my putting has been solid. Shot a 95 today with 44!!!! putts. Green reading and speed control were non-existent
I'm inspiring folks! Fantastic work, that GHIN is gonna drop again. You weren't playing your Luka ball today? After the first ball that ZeroPointZero lost a little to the right, we hopped out of the cart and start looking for it in the native area. I spot a clean Bridgestone and ask him what he's playing. Reply... "It's a Titleist 77, the Luka ball." Shit, I didn't even know you could do that.
I don't think I have ever heard of David Lipsky. Brian Campbell's girlfriend was very annoying when he won the Mexico Open. I think I've heard of Grillo but not sure.
In the 12 events since the win in Mexico, Campbell has 6 MCs, 1 WD, and 0 top 30s. His last three rounds going into this week were 79-79-78. What a weird two time winner lol
Any Bama guys ever play Tartan Pines in Enterprise? Unfortunately will be spending my weekend there for a baseball tournament and will have some downtime. May try to get a few holes in.
Won’t have that kind of time but actually now looking at booking a tee time there in a couple weeks when my BiL is in town. We wanted to do the member for a day at Legacy but doesn’t look like they offer it anymore. Other idea was Kinderlou but looks like they’re fully private now. Suggestions for the absolute best courses (that I can theoretically get a tee time at) within 1.5/2 hours of Tally?
SLGC will offer it later towards the end of the month or early August. They're currently redoing #5 as a replica of #12 at Augasta. and moving some cart paths and adding a few bunkers. But if you ever wanna go out with me just message me. Weekdays with a member is the same price as member for a day. Just dont look at doing football weekends as prices are 1.5x I think
Shot 86 today with zero putting whatsoever. That's about as well as I can play right now. Game is fun.
Do not play. It is in horrible shape, especially the greens. You can try and get on ECC. Just say you are a perspective member moving to town.
Yea saw some pretty bad reviews. Reminds me a bit of my home course sadly. I was not expecting to read this and definitely would love some recommendations. My expectations for the weekend are about as low as possible, gunna be 1000 degrees and had some plans I was looking forward to this weekend I had to cancel since this came up last minute. So a spot to eat that’s decent and not a chain that I had resigned myself to would be great. Appreciate it.
"Saw" my first ever hole in one today. It happened literally seconds after my only birdie of the day right behind me so I thought they were cheering for me. Turned around and saw them running to the green Instead of buying beer, he apparently just bought himself and his partner a pair of shoes at the pro shop. Respect
Getting back into it this year after about a 10 year hiatus. I understand the hype now for a 7 wood for a guy like me. I am embracing the old man game.
