I experienced the inverse of this playing in the HS state tournament as a sophomore. After 7 holes I was even. 8th hole par 3 I hit a hard shank. Round never recovered. Shanked every iron shot coming in. 41-58
I broke 80 for the first time 2 weeks ago. Played the same course Saturday and shot 90. Went to the range yesterday and probably hit 90% weak slice/fade and I play a draw. Everyone sucks at this stupid game
Will play well one week, then suck the next. Golf is too damn hard. I’m also not good enough to know what I’m doing wrong or where to even begin to try to fix what’s wrong. Hell, half the time it goes to shit halfway thru a round.
I'd definitely recommend a lesson or 2. I can't always fix it right away but I now understand why I'm fucking up, at least generally.
Then you eventually realize that unless you can use alignment sticks, keep a chair up against your butt, and have said golf pro also hold a pool noodle against your left temple every shot, you’re always going to have a shitty swing. My game is in a dark place. Ignore me

just read this. Pieters didn’t get a drop because the sprinkler was inside the hazard. The sprinkler wasn’t supposed to be inside the hazard so they redid the lines right after Pieters. Because it’s match play and doesn’t matter group to group you can change the markings apparently.
Except they redid the lines right after Bryson played, and gave it to him. They spray painted the grass as Bryson was leaving.
They actually didn't redo the lines until Bryson's ball went in. They got together, decided it was an accident and let him drop/fixed the line on the spot.
It needed to be clarified, though. Whoever spray painted that line fucked up. The margin of the hazard should have never included that sprinkler head. The initial ruling against Pieters was terrible.
